   I was lucky enough to give birth to my first child at Cossham birth centre last May. All of the midwives and staff went above and beyond to make the experience as relaxing and comfortable as possible. I gave birth naturally with no drugs, spent basically the entire time in the tub and gave birth to my baby in the water which is exactly what I wanted. I gave birth at 4pm and we were allowed to go home at midnight that same day. The rooms are a mix between a hotel and hospital, it's such a nice atmosphere in there. I have heard they may be closed or at risk of closing at this would be such a shame. It's an incredible building to give birth in and I wouldn't change a thing. Thank you so much to all the staff there, you're all amazing! Xx

   We had a wonderful experience having our baby boy at cossham. The initial appointment and tour helped us feel prepared for the practical aspects of the birth. We felt looked after from the first phone call to the midwife until we were leaving with our new baby. When we arrived the room had been set up for us and we felt at ease. My husband was encouraged to support me throughout the birth. Afterwards we were able to stay in the same room and spend time as a family. The support we received with feeding meant our breastfeeding journey got off to a positive start. Nothing was too much trouble for the Midwives and care assistants we felt so well looked after. If you want a calm supportive environment to give birth and wonderful aftercare cossham is the place for you

   Had my first baby at Cossham birth centre in May. All midwives I saw were wonderful and really supportive throughout my pregnancy and labour. I would thoroughly recommend for any women wanting to have a more natural birth. Facilities are amazing - birth pool, double bed and comfortable chairs in every room.

   After setting my heart on delivery at Cossham the midwife team called me to say I had to have an appointment to confirm my eligibility for giving birth at Cossham. This was arranged for the Friday I was 37+4 days. When I got there none of the parking meters were working, so I was running around heavily pregnant trying to figure out what to do. When I eventually got to the birth centre I was buzzing for 10 minutes before anyone let me in. Once I sat down no one asked my name or took my notes. I waited for 30 mins and nothing. I finally spoke to a staff member there who had no knowledge of my appointment avd told me it had been arranged by a different team none of whom were on site. There was no one there to see me, even though they had been adamant that this was the only slot they had available. Apparently they had called all the ladies expected that day and moved their appointments. I had no missed call or voice messages, so the stressful trip was a complete waste of time. I've given up on my dream of having my baby there. I left feeling totally neglected and really quite upset, it didnt give me any faith in the way the newly reopened centre is being run. I feel like my option to give birth there has been taken away after such poor treatment.
