From the moment I got there this morning from the time I left, I was treated very well even in theatre they knew I was nervous and I had a lovely nurse hold my hand the whole time, can't thank them enough. First class since I walked into reception, everyone very friendly, free tea, coffee, biscuits. I was seen promptly for my assessment, asked to come back the following day. Surgery completed, Follow up with my optician in 6 weeks. Thank you SpaMedica Warmley.
I'm uncomfortable with anything to do with eyes (I'll never be a contact lens wearer) so was a bit fearful of cateract surgery. All I can say is that from pre-op through to the operation and discharge I felt welcome and very well cared for. The procedure itself was pain-free with only the tinyest amount pressure being felt (I'm expecting far worse when I have a trip to the dentist next week!) It is now a week after my operation and it is hard to tell the difference in vision between either eye. Another week of drops and I wonder how much better it can get? Happy to recommend.

You need to be careful if going here. I went for consultation regarding cataract in both eyes, expecting to discuss various options. The whole appointment took 3 hours and in the end I was told that they don't do toroidal or multifocal.lenses as they advertise in their brochure sent to me before the appointment. I was slightly strong armed into signing a consent form for simple lens replacement on the NHS, I know I can get a better result with more advanced lenses so rang the next day to cancel. I will have to go private as I knew before, but this is not the place. You don't get to see a surgeon for the consultation, just a optimologist who frankly did not fill me with confidence.
Today I needed the complex team to work on my left eye. They were excellent and the surgeon explained what he could do and what he thought could be achieved. I was happy that he was my surgeon. The whole team was professional in every way. Very happy to have the work required carried out here. Well done to all.
SpaMedica offers cataract and post-cataract treatments. I was impressed with the quality of their service. Parking is easy and the number 43 bus stops just outside every 20 minutes. They offer tea, coffee and biscuits to all their patients and accompaniers. They have a TV in the waiting room - which they will turn off (or on) on request.
My next door neighbour had a cataract operation at this clinic and lost his eyesight. The Doctor operating was different to the one met in initial consultation to discuss his case as it was a complex one. He developed a bleed during surgery resulting on a fail op. Doctor was warned by his team to abort but was eager to continue. My neighbour was patched up and offered a free hotel instead of sending him to A & E
