This review is for the spa part of the facilities and nothing more. We did the evening spa and found the experience to be fine but not necessarily relaxing or tranquil. Here are our observations and experiences: 1. Staff was friendly and professional, no issues there. 2. Kids are allowed in the indoor pool until 6pm so it can be rather rambunctious from 5-6pm. 3. Not nearly enough lounge chairs indoors around the pool and those that exist are all "reserved" by people that put their towels on them but aren't using them and are somewhere else in the facility. 4. Once the boorish people leave and you can gain access to the cherished indoor lounge chairs around the pool, the lounge padding is wet from the last person and rather grotty. 5. The salt room is sort of a useless room. A button that only works every 15 minutes and the rest of the time you are just sitting in a room. 5. One of the sauna rooms was down when we visited which made the other sauna room very crowded, but the bigger issue was the wet floor. It was soaked and there was just something that didn't feel safe about having my feet on wet ground while sitting around an electric sauna. I cannot recommend the spa for a relaxing visit because it really wasn't that relaxing. We got some of the benefits of the sauna and the steam room but I didn't leave feeling relaxed because of the points mentioned above

Friendly greeting from Rory who gave us lots of information regarding our stay. Lovely warm twin bedded room. Good breakfast, a waiter warmed our plates for us on request. Had a good hour in the spa really enjoyed the hot outdoor pool. We didn't have any other meals so not able to comment on the restaurant.

We booked the “My Perfect Treat Spa Day”. And had an amazing time, staff were lovely and the location was worth every penny. The facilities were good with favourites being the heated outdoor pool and saunas/ steam room. Good choices of treatments. Afternoon tea included was tasty and had a choice of hot drinks to choose from. We visited during the christmas market period so assuming thats the reason it was busy which we could only find as a slight downside. Everything else was superb, would highly recommend.

What a wonderful couple of days spent at MacDonalds Hotel and Spa Bath that we have just come back from. It was my friend's special birthday and the hotel did not disappoint. They upgraded both of our rooms, left a card and chocolates for my friend and the staff were so helpful and friendly. We had full use of the facilities and had breakfast and parking included with our stay. The Spa was absolutely lovely with a warm swimming pool, and very warm outside jacuzzi. We felt like Royalty staying there! It's a short walk from the town where we enjoyed shopping and the fabulous Christmas market. It deserves more than 5 stars! Thank you so much. We will be back!

We recently had the pleasure of staying at The bath Spa Hotel, which as always didn’t disappoint. As always it was an unforgettable experience! From the moment we arrived, we were blown away by how luxurious and welcoming everything is. The suite was absolutely stunnin, spacious, elegant, and beautifully decorated with every detail thoughtfully considered. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and the views from the room were just breathtaking. We truly felt like we were in a five-star sanctuary. We took a dip in the outdoor pool which was incredible. The food was another highlight of my stay. Every meal was a delight! Whether it was breakfast or dinner, the quality of the dishes was exceptional. What really made this hotel stand out, though, was the staff. Every single team member was so friendly, attentive, and eager to make our stay as comfortable as possible. They went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed. Their hospitality truly set the tone for the entire experience. Overall, my stay was nothing short of fantastic. We would highly recommend to anyone looking for a luxurious, relaxing, and top-notch experience. We will be back!

We really enjoyed our spontaneous night away. The hotel is very well presented, it’s easy to park and check-in felt really relaxed and easy. The rooms are spacious and perfectly clean. The pool and spa facilities were rather wonderful and this was definitely a highlight for our stay. Especially the warm outdoor lit-up pool in the evening. Breakfast was delicious, quick and a complimentary prosecco definitely went down a treat! We hope to return in the future and have since recommended to friends and family.

We had a lovely welcome to the hotel by staff members at reception. Our room was ok I’ve had nicer rooms in premier inn for a fraction of the price. It took a while to get to the room and a load of flights of stairs which was a pain with all your luggage. Breakfast was nice and staff were helpful. The spa was full so we couldn’t get it but it was Valentine’s Day so I imagined it would be busy. The worse part for us was we paid £75 deposit on arrival and we haven’t been able to get it back. A month down the line and over twenty phone calls to the hotel. First few phone calls they kept telling us it had been returned. Further phone calls they were blaming our bank. End of the story is we still haven’t had the money off them and they are saying now it could take a further 30 days. I know it’s not a lot of money but it’s the principle of it and we would like it back! It’s left a really bitter taste in our mouths about returning to this hotel on future. Which is a shame as staff were lovely, location was great and we would have liked to use the spa next time.

Stay was lovely and v good value for money considering how luxurious the hotel is. The staff are stand out and made our stay perfect. We had a treatment at the spa which was amazing and the outdoor pool was special. Only four star as the spa needs a bit of maintenance, our room was cold and the only vegan food for dinner is actually just a tiny plate of just vegetables with a sprinkle of nuts! It's 2023 there's no excuse for thinking vegans just eat a plate of vegetables.

The staff were welcoming and attentive. I was there as a wedding celebrant officiating an intimate elopement ceremony with the couple and their respective children, creating a blended family with a 'ties that bind' ceremony. The wedding coordinator was super efficient and very friendly. The ceremony room was beautifully decorated in the wedding colour scheme. Everything ran to time and was perfect. I really couldn't find fault with anything.

Booked to celebrate our 10 year wedding anniversary. The hotel and grounds are lovely and in easy reach of the city. Our room was spacious but the bathroom was not up to standard at all. It was in dire need of a deep clean and had not been maintained, with mouldy grout, damaged bath surround and grease on the door. Sadly the restaurant and breakfast is not set up for anyone with allergies. There is no reference on the menus as to what the food contains. I asked for gluten free toast 3 times and never received it, which was the same at dinner time when waiting for gluten free bread. Members of staff were nice, but it appeared they were under staffed as things were getting missed or severely delayed. The spa team were lovely, but again the spa facilities were in dire need of some attention. Overall it was not the standard I expected to find given the price tag attached and I wouldn't recommend or return. Food, drinks and spa treatments were overpriced considering the quality provided and the venue. Given it was the first time we'd been away, just us, since getting married we were disappointed to say the least.
