Not a bad experience but nothing special, perhaps a major issue for many might be the lack of wi-fi but there is signal so it isn't awful.

Lovely hotel, a good location with a 10 minutes walk to the town centre. The room was spacious well decorated but could do with a few updates

My good friend and I have saved for over 5 years to visit England, planning a few days in Bath. We arrived at Wentworth House Hotel and have been completely underwhelmed - to the point where we booked elsewhere for the second night. I have travelled extensively but never slept on a bed where the springs extended from the mattress into my hip and ribs. The room was filthy, a poor effort at fixing the bathroom was obvious. Such little attention to detail taken that a hair had been painted into the doorway and left there. The stains in the carpet meant that you did not want to walk bare foot on the carpet. The walls were so thin a person coughing up a fur ball in the next room may as well have been in our room. The plus side was it was warm, and there was hot water. I would not recommend this place, but particularly not for women travelling alone.

Worst hotel experience, firstly boasting a four poster bed (on theory they do but with all of b&q trying to hold it together and failing with the bed swaying as you get on it) the mattress is SOLID and has mould patches all over, the room is extremely dated and smells old and damp. Leaving feeling itchy and unrested.

Sometimes you feel compelled to write a review. We had a last minute stay in Bath and were looking for an affordable, decent hotel close to bath but not in the centre. We found it with the Wentworth House Hotel. From the free parking, late-ish (arrived in darkness) welcome after a long drive and some good directions to our forward destination we knew we'd chosen well. Yes, there are some low star reviews for this establishment but I wonder if they picked the wrong hotel. If you're looking for swish, silver service with mints on your pillow and uniformed staff - keep looking. If you're looking for a clean, good, honest 'head down tummy full' stay, they this is perfect. Which brings me on to the breakfast - splendid stuff. Freshly cooked (they asked what time we'd be sitting down for it so it could be timed perfectly), it was hot, tasty and plentiful. And oh my, that sausage... So in list form and to conclude - free parking, lovely building, well kept facilities, a bar, good size room (with toiletries), a fabulous view, friendly welcome, excellent breakfast and just 15 minutes walk to the centre of Bath. (Take the bus back - a tip from another review and well worth doing - it's a long hill after a big meal). Thank you WHH - we'll be back.

The place is situated 15 mins away from the city centre which makes it a perfect place to relax however the place does need some changes. As soon as we entered the room it felt a bit stuffy which could perhaps be because of the carpeted floor and the felt inspired room decor. It was quite small in real and would have certainly been uncomfortable moving around for people with slightly larger stature. The bathroom was ensuite which was a blessing however the shower head and the water pipes do need some work done. The water intensity is very very low. The light above the wash basin didnt work. It could have been replaced which is a small step! There is breakfast but it needs to be paid for separately which we felt was very expensive so we went to the city instead. The heater was okay and we didn't feel too cold (early December). The bed is very high , so for people who are short like me (5'2") it certainly was a funny ordeal to get to bed. We didn't have any other issues apart from the slight inconveniences mentioned above. The host was welcoming too.

The service was dreadful and I went to the room it was even worse. There was a hole in the ceiling, a crack in sink, broken tiles on bathroom floor and there was no remote control for the TV. When I went to speak to the Owner he said that the last person took it with them by mistake and are sending it back. But the singal is really bad so there is much point in watching the TV anyway. I checked back on old reviews and they said the same about the TV remote 2 months ago. I had to ask the owner how to get to town and his reply was there is paper there with instructions on but why did he tell me that when I booked in.

Fantastic stay. Beautiful area to stay in, so quiet and easy to access the City by foot or bus. Parking and grounds are a real bonus. The room is comfy and warm and great value for money. Manager or owner is really accomodating and staff were lovely. Thanks for a really welcoming stay.

The service and the staff at the hotel were friendly and the hotel seemed pretty clean. Some of the furniture in the room had maybe seen better days with bed being quite creaky and a very firm mattress. It is in a great location near the centre of Bath with the centre being 20 min walk away. Be aware there is a fairly steep hill on the way to centre which is fine getting there as it is downhill but can be a bit of effort in the opposite direction. It is well served with regular bus services from the centre
