Came here for an impromptu lunch and was more than impressed. Cozy pub atmosphere and a really good menu. Reasonably priced considering it's right next to the castle. Also has colouring books and pencils for kids to keep them entertained. All in all very happy, will be back.
Lovely, cosy pub with a log burner, 5 real ales, 3 real ciders, good options on tap and an excellent whiskey selection. The whiskeys were all £6.30 for a double, which is incredibly good value and the pints were less than a fiver as well!
My husband & I had the Sunday Lunch sharing board. The food was excellent. Staff were very attentive & helpful. Had enough left over for another meal. The atmosphere in this pub is buzzing. Will definitely be back
Lovely warm pub, with really nice staff and cozy vibes, enjoyed playing the out of tune piano in the corner. Shame when I ordered the burger I got 2 slabs of cheap burger meat I'd expect at a fairground van or A road stopping. For £16.95 it just wasn't good enough quality, bun was cheap as well and just fell apart in my hands, chips were pretty good.
Nice stop over on our way back from Wales. Staff were very accommodating as we're didn't arrive until very late and provided us with a key prior. The room itself was quite quirky and had alot of character. Had breakfast in the morning which was nice to. Pub is in a very nice spot.
We waited an hour for some sandwiches and soup. When we asked about where our food was the manager butted in and said that they make everything from scratch.. which would explain the microwave sounds we heard sat next to the kitchen. Once it arrived we received watery soup, different to the one we ordered and freezing roast beef sandwiches. Maybe we had to wait an hour for them to thaw out? Makes sense that you have to pay before you get your food.
Nice find after our drive about. Lovely warm welcome, we haven’t booked a table for lunch but they were very accommodating and found us a table. We had there roast sharing platter , and OMG what a huge plate full it was to. Not only looked amazing tasted it as well and didn’t pay through the nose either . Five star would definitely recommend and return
The Three Tuns is one of the best pubs around. Service is always good, there's a big range of drinks and now they've also introduced a good food menu. What really makes it is the atmosphere though, the staff aare very friendly and make it a really vibrant and relaxing place to be. There's live music almost every week and they also sell freshly made nibbles on their bar like pork pies and sausage rolls. Its also super dog friendly. Great all-rounder, can't fault it.
Great if you enjoy authentic historic pub with only a few rooms and uneven floors are part of the charm. Unfortunately we stayed the night the chef had off (elegant italian dining nearby.) Good parking available, and very popular beer garden with live entertainment.
