Lovely hotel in an old building that really does capture the "lovely" historic building vibe. Rooms are more than standard, there is enough room in each one to swing about 3 or 4 cats, let alone one. The owners are really really nice, they really do make you feel at home, and we even got the opportunity to meet their dogs! Plus, it's a smoker's heaven as there is a smoking terrace out front! Would definitely recommend considering this hotel, and this would be my choice if I returned to Tintern.

Dreadful, noisy and dirty dogs barking when we returned to the property, old outdated furnishings, needs serious overhaul. Host friendly and accommodating with lots of homemade jams, etc.

Large and very comfortable room with its own 'entrance' (very convenient as we had a small dog). Friendly and welcoming hostess. Good facilities in our room (choice of beverages, biscuits, cereal and fruit), and good quality toiletries for use in the generous bath. Easy parking and the bookshop in Tintern has re-opened! The Fountain Inn (a short drive away) is worth a visit for its superb food. Would definitely visit again.

Really beautiful, quirky accomodation in a gorgeous location. The rooms were very spacious and comfortable. Welcoming host and lovely breakfast. Hoping to return.

We stated here for a week as a family of 4 and dog in the two bedroom suite. Plenty of space for us. Very clean and comfortable with everything you could need, even a dog blanket, towels and treats! A little warm in the main bedroom but a fan is provided. Traditionally decorated (chintzy?!) not to my taste but still very nicely done. The breakfasts were amazing. The location is spot on, great base for exploring the Wye valley, Forest of Dean, and nearby towns of Chepstow and Monmouth. Bristol and Cardiff are also within easy reach. Tintern is just beautiful with several good pubs and a vineyard. Recommended!

The owners are lovely, the rooms are very cosy whether a single room or a family room. We travelled with our 22 month old son and it was no bother for them, even preparing a portacot and high chair for us before arrival. The breakfast was delicious too!
