Great location with amazing views. The house is well furnished and in good condition. Only thing that let it down was a broken dishwasher for the duration of our stay.
Location, location, location! We loved the views across the valley from this place, could easily spend several hours in the hot tub just looking at the beautiful scenery! Great for big groups of people and plenty of seating, big BBQ and ovens to feed the hordes was good. The lady owner was nice and helped us out when we didn't understand how the recycling worked. Downsides? The downstairs bedroom was a little bit damp and some of the upstairs bedrooms would have benefitted from curtains or blinds to go over the skylights/windows. Other then that I would highly recommend this place to any groups of people.
Stayed in Dorland's House for a large family party. Absolutely beautiful location with stunning views. Plenty of parking, and very well equipped. Easily accommodated all 15 of us plus a further 8 just for a party. But a little tired in places, especially the bathrooms. Oh, and steps absolutely everywhere inside the house so be aware!
Such a beautiful venue for our wedding. All of our guests commented on the view from the barn. It was just what we wanted as we were able to decorate the barn with our own decorations to fit with our theme. Our theme was rustic so the barn fitted perfectly. Nothing was too much trouble for Helen and her team. They were all so helpful and friendly. Being a family buisness, the whole day felt very personal and tailored to exactly what we wanted. Brilliant value for money compared to similar venues. And having accommodation on site makes the whole day run much more smoothly. Thanks so much to Helen and everyone else involved for making our day so special
I just wanted to say such a huge thank you for everything you did over our wedding weekend! We had the best time ever – it couldn’t have gone better! Everything from the set up in the barn, the houses, the weather (!), the bar – just everything was absolutely amazing and you were so accomodating. We’re already trying to find an excuse to come back and do it all again! A massive thank you to Natasha and the lovely ladies on the bar – everyone said how lovely and friendly you all were, even when some of our guests were a little messy!! We’re so grateful for the way you managed everything. Nothing was too much to ask, even the things I forgot about, like the tea at the afternoon tea – doh! You made our special day so much more special. We couldn’t have asked for anything more.
What a spectacular find! Helen is such a wonderful host and well looked after property. Stayed here for 4 days for 17 people. Lovely views, great hot tub and spacious venue. All facilities there such as 65inch TV, dvds, books, games, dinning room, fully equipped kitchen etc. We were surprised what they had! Perfect venue for kids too. 100% would come back again.
Recently back from the most amazing hen weekend at Dorlands House. We hired both houses, which were so beautifully presented, very well equipped and the hot tubs finished it off perfectly! The host was incredibly helpful and accommodating in the run up and during our stay and I would highly recommend this house to any large families/groups of friends wanting to escape to the country. The view is out out of this world and if you are as lucky as we were, you will get to witness some of the most beautiful sunsets. On the second night of our stay, we took over the front section of the brand new converted barn, which sits directly next to the house. This was such a bonus, the space is huge and was perfect for the festival themed party we had planned for our second night. This place is such a hidden gem and I will definitely be returning!
