The staff are genuinely lovely, welcoming, and happy to help. Massive shout out to Madhvee, Mo, Jason, Bhargav, Ahmed, Linda and all the others who always make us feel welcome. The shop itself is bright, well organised, and has a great atmosphere. Perfect place for gifts or a little treat. Highly recommended! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5/5
I went into the Charlton Smyths toy store, and upon getting to the till, the MANAGER of the shop, JASON, seems like he woke up on the wrong side of the bed. Started the whole approach with zero respect for the customer, had his back turned whilst he was speaking or directing instructions to me. Apparently me as the customer can’t choose my own stock when buying trading cards. Absolutely disgusting behaviour, expecting me to spend money on products which i didnt choose or select. As the MANAGER of the shop, I think he needs more education on how to deal with customers, i was not being difficult, but he decided to treat me like I’m a criminal. Mind you, I have been a common visitor to this shop, they all know my face. But this JASON character thought he can go beyond the law of average and try to flex his power over me. Which i find absolutely disrespectful/ disgusting. Someone from HR needs to take a look at this store as its received more then average complaints when deals with the people who work at the shop.
Bought a lego set from here came with with the wrong piece in every bag so i wanted to get a replacement, the staff were very rude and interuppting me every few words i was speaking, they said i could not get a replacement as they shifted the blame over to lego and claimed that "its not their fault that they sent the wrong things so you have to contact them and not us". the support that the offered me was terrible, they had to bring in 3 different people each time i explained my situation until thr manager came and told me i had to call a number to contact lego, gave it to me and left straight away so i called the number and the number didnt work, i had to talk to them again to get the right number and at this point there was atleast 6 staff members being rude to me and blaming me for making it so difficult. overall very terrible service, if you want to buy lego from here DONT, if you have any issues with your lego they will not help you in any way.
I had a very unpleasant experience at the Charlton Smyths Toys store on 31st October at 17:00. While comparing a few items, both the manager and the security stared at me in a way that made me feel uncomfortable, as if I was being suspected of stealing. Feeling uneasy about this treatment, I approached a member of the customer service team and requested to speak with the manager. When he came over, I explained the situation politely and expressed how it made me feel. However, instead of listening, he interrupted me and denied everything I was saying. He also claimed he didn’t even know why the security had come over to him. The rest of the staff were friendly, polite, and professional, but this incident with the manager and security left me feeling unwelcome. Despite this, I completed my purchase and remained polite throughout my time in the store. Unfortunately, due to this experience, I will not be returning.
The store has potential and could do a lot better with friendlier staff members. Not even a smile or any sort of reply when my 3 year old said hello and greeted the lady on the till yesterday- Monday 3:30pm. Supposed to be a joyful experience for kids/toddlers but extremely disappointed with the behaviour.
The store is Huge you can Almost find any toy . But I have to say that their customer service is Amazing specially Mr Eddy guy with long beard he Has too much knowledge about the stuff. 5 stars Because of him.
This is a heaven for children with very trendy toys selling inside. It is also an inspiring store for adults to buy gifts for children.
Huge store with lovely staff members. I went to view travel systems. I explained what I wanted to Anne Marie and she was thorough in going through options. She knew her stuff and how to work each pram as well as general laws concerning them. She was enthusiastic, patient and very helpful. Honestly it was a wonderful experience and I was able to get the perfect travel system for me and my baby!
Based within Peninsular Park, we've been here many times over the years, if you've been to a Smyths before, it's like a carbon copy of all the others. It has a range of toys, gadgets and video games to cater to all, the staff are all very helpful when we asked, no problems in that department. It does get crowded during the festive seasons or off-peak times. Getting here with public transport, Charlton (Thameslink/southeastern) or for buses, Peninsular Park Road via buses 472/486 is your closest. Standard.
