   The views from Clifton Suspension Bridge are absolutely stunning. It’s beautiful in photos, but even better in person. If you’re visiting the bridge, don’t just stop there. The surrounding Clifton Village is lovely and well worth spending some time in. It really does feel like a little fairytale village, with great cafés, charming streets and a very relaxed atmosphere. We visited around Christmas and it was especially beautiful then. Definitely take the time to explore the area, not just the bridge.

   Amazing bridge and history behind it, you will have to pay a toll to cross it in your car, and carpark spaces arnt great on other side, just next to the bridge is a path if you follow it up to the top you will arrive at a cafe and the cave entrance, but there is some great shots off the bridge from the top view point

   Isambard had a very silly first name. Marginally improved with the addition of Kingdom as the second part but tailing off with a Brunel at the end. He started building the Clifton Suspension Bridge in 1831 but production was halted due to the Bristol riots, probably caused by Rovers beating City at Ashton Gate. A result no one expected. At no time did Brunel throw rocks, or anything else, at anyone during the riots. Isambard died in 1859, not as a result of riotous activity or falling whilst crossing a high wire on a bicycle. Shame really, 'cos he never got to see the bridge completion in 1864. It goes from Clifton in Bristol to Leigh Woods in North Somerset, a distance of 1,352 feet, the length of the bridge. It was originally used only by horse drawn traffic as the internal combustion engine had yet to be invented. In 2024 it's estimated that more than twelve vehicles crossed the bridge, some say that this is a gross underestimating of the actual number which used it. It's a Grade 1 listed structure so don't go painting graffiti on it or you'll receive a severe finger wagging from the constabulary. People like me, who don't like heights, can't cross from one side to the other so all images are taken from the Clifton side.

   Really beautiful and stunning brigde. Great views on both side of the bridge. You can walk down on both side and get lovely pictures. There is a third spot from where you can capture the whole bridge and some facts about the bridge is given.

   A nice attraction in Bristol to visit for sure. The Clifton Suspension Bridge offers stunning views and plenty to explore around it. Whether you walk across and capture the beautiful sights of the surrounding villages or visit the nearby observatory, it’s always worth the trip. There are benches where you can sit, relax, and take in the scenery and a great spot to enjoy a coffee, unwind, or even have a picnic.

   Brilliant piece of architectural design. It's a quite popular attractions amongst tourist so there are often some people around it. I would particularly recommend it to photographers, especially those that don't mind to spend even a couple of hours standing and taking some photos from different angles of this beautiful bridge. The surrounding area is also very pretty,and the parks just by the side of the bridge are great places for a walk on the fresh air, not to mention the top of the hill which can reward its climbers with some spectacular views/panorama. I can definitely recommend visiting it.

   Amazing views! A must visit if ever in Bristol, you can spend hours taking in the beautiful scenery. Many details around you. With the observatory close by, and a tunnel leading to suspended balcony in the middle of the cliff. The bridge itself is more than a 100 years old. With daily walking tours. You can put your camera down, many details you can find around you while crossing and beautiful scenery. It takes around 5 minutes going from one side to the other. Unfortunately the Avon gorge below was nearly dry when we visited August 2022 because of the heatwave, but still the views were beautiful. The Clifton area close by with the Mall gardens and many authentic restaurants. A nice place to send part of your day and end with having a meal in on of those restaurants. Note: the bridge has a £1 pound toll if crossing in a car.

You can pay via cc or dc * Street Parking slots available near that bridges * Lot of benches to sit and relax * I don't see any light settings on normal days

   Absolutely beautiful suspension bridge. We definitely recommend you have a look if you’re in Bristol. The bridge is easy accessible, we went via a bus which took about 20 minutes from the city centre. You can also drive (I did see some parking), and the bridge is next to a lovely park so you can walk around if you’re in the area. Of course this area gets busy when it’s tourist season but it’s such an amazing view, I would definitely recommend you stopping by. Best time to go would be just before sunset, because then you can see the bridge during the day and then watch as it turns its lights on at night. There’s also a good selection of bars and pubs within a 10 minute walk, so you can make an evening of it.

   It's not very often I get the chance to walk around the bridge but it's really enjoyable every time I do. The engineering is impressive the views are amazing. You really get to experience how big this bridge is when walking across. The walkways are not very wide so if in a group could make it difficult to pass by if stopped on the bridge. There is a visitor center a short walk from the bridge. I really enjoyed visiting the bridge and hope to visit again soon.
