Went to Leicester after a long time and my brother in law booked this restaurant. Food was tasty but the main took 40 minutes which was ridiculous. Music was way too loud when your trying to talk to people next to you. Everything else was great apart from the loud live music.
Came to see my friend and was very disappointed. The Place looks tired and the food was mediocre. Its just the same as the rest of the mediocre places. I seen a big sign that said they had won an award, They probably brought that award becauee this place is nowhere near an award winning place.
So we have been going to Royal Leicester for numerous of years we have got numerous of takeaways we absolutely know the owner very well as well Rocky sleep fantastic character and his hospitality when it comes across his absolutely lovely but this time round as we going to eat there it's been absolutely Ferocious food where the food quality has been not well whether butter chicken has been made very spicy for kids Plus on top as well we ordered garlic chilli chicken there was extra gravy and 34 pieces of chicken the starters were called the atmosphere was not buy I don't think they should be deserving Awards going forward is absolutely bad how they have basically come to they really need to shape up their food to bring it back to where it was it's like they have stopped caring about their business and their food
A year ago I gave 5 stars. So let me explain why 1 now. Firstly very dishonest. They give 2 receipts when you pay the bill. But it is all added on 1 reciept. Some months ago they let us pay both which was over £100 extra. They did not correct us but took the money even though our group was regulars there. We let it go as a bad experience but they forget I can leave a new review. The last time we went was. Terrible. Sorry, the starters were good. Goat curry was tomato flavour. £45 a pot. Keema had no flavour. I did not try the chicken. Pan was great. They probably lost the chef. That's another restaurant in Leicester for us to avoid. When I worked out our food bill a few months ago I realised how we paid twice for drinks but the goat curry was still worth returning for. It was not Rocky but the other person who took the extra money and said nothing. We have probably been ripped off before. Now many years ago I worked in a restaurant ind I know a couple of extra drinks went on bills by the owner. But I have never been asked to let a customer pay twice for a bill. £10 a person blends in easily as it a large group. Never confronted them but we knew the bills had to be checked. No issue now as we won't go back as food not nice.
Fantastic food, great service and great value. Was greeted warmly upon entry and dealt with by very attentive staff.
Looking for a good curry. This place serves you the best. A family restaurant with a pub feel to it. Their food and drinks are amazing.
Family & I have been coming for years - great service from all the staff, especially Rocky and Hayley! Highly recommend and the food is great too!! (Lamb chops are a must try!)
Ladies, fellas, everyone... get down here and check out the amazing live Indian music, particularly on a Saturday night! Never experienced anything like it before and I've been to a fair few indian pub nights including many visits here. We had some food before in the pub area and then went down to the restaurant side to enjoy some great music and everyone was dancing their socks off!! Good old Leicester huh... Great food, great local! Only downsides are maybe the loos and they never have any "crispy bhajiya" in!! Sort it out!
