Honestly amazing place. Been here a few times over the last year and it impresses me every time. The service was fantastic, Faye and Ruth were very attentive and treated us amazingly! The food was sooooo tasty, the roasts were lovely, specifically the potatoes, they were crisp on the outside and soft on the inside! The atmosphere was calm and fun, plenty of people chatting away, but not so loudly I couldn't have a conversation myself. Fantastic place and definitely recommend!

Absolutely lovely family christmas meal today. 8 adults and 3 children. Food was lovely, service was great thank you Connor and the rest of the team!

I had a nice catchup with a friend, over a meal. The staff were very helpful and cheerful. The steak pie was a proper short crust pie (not just a stew with a puff pastry lid). The chips were very nice, vegetables were ok. Nicely presented. The Yews has a relaxed atmosphere in this building full of historic features.

Excellent!! We booked a table of 5 for dinner, 2 adults, 2 children. We picked from the festive menu, starter smoked salmon & horseradish salad & the Crispy Pork Belly bites - absolutely incredible! Mains, Roast Turkey with all the trimmings (with the biggest Yorkie I’ve ever been served) & the Cod Loin - outstanding taste & presentation! A real gem of a place to eat in such a warming & cosy atmosphere with the most welcoming of staff.. we will be heading back in the next few weeks!! Thank you so much!

Had a fantastic meal, this pick doesn't do it justice as the skin on the fish is dark. My wife and kids also had a great meal and son even went to thank the chef for his food as it was so good. Very friendly staff and well priced food & drinks. In the summer the beer garden is great to sit in but as we came on this occasion mid winter that was all closed.

Would give a 4.5. Service was really lovely but unfortunately quite slow given they were understaffed - appreciate this isn't the fault of the bar staff. Hopefully they will manage during the Christmas period. Loved the mushroom & ale pie. I'm not a vegetarian but I think there were lots of great veggie options to choose from which is excellent given how climate change is affecting consumer choices. Had a wide variety of ice cream choices for pudding as well. Interesting choice of specials such as boar burger, venison and ravioli. If you want a meat special though it's best to book in early as the venison sold out. My sister was fortunate enough to get the last one.

We booked two tables here this week as we were assisting our daughter and her friends (all with learning disabilities) on a double date. They wanted to go out for a meal together as a foursome but needed some support. On arrival I spoke to Ruth and explained the two tables. She was amazing. We sat in one room and our daughter sat in another. Ruth helped them and treated them all with respect and dignity. Hannah took over from Ruth and our daughter and friends had a fabulous night. We also had a lovely night and meal, knowing we could relax and let the staff look after our daughter and friends. The landlady was also amazing. We all left the pub satisfied, having eaten good food but more importantly, with joy in our hearts. The care, compassion and understanding of the staff is worthy of such a fabulous review! Thank you all

Seated in the dining room which was empty when we arrived, just 2 of us. Was very very very quiet in said dining room. Our waitress was lovely, very polite, and professional. We was then joined bye a large family, with children, which is fine but.... Would of liked maybe some back ground music, for more of an atmosphere, as spent the rest of our meal feeling like we had to whisper because we could hear everything the larger family was talking about. Food was very nice. Would visit again but ask to be seated somewhere else, personal preference.
