The food here is genuinely fantastic. If you’re someone who doesn’t care too much about interiors and is really just after proper Indian flavours, this place won’t disappoint. My family and I visited recently and tried a variety of dishes. The samosa chaat was decent, but the Parotta with Korma, Masala Dosa, and Puri Masala were all spot on- the flavours tasted exactly like back home! There’s usually just one person managing the front, so it can get a bit slow when it’s busy. I would suggest they improve their service speed a little, but otherwise the food is neatly presented and served well. For a small place offering such great, authentic food at very reasonable prices, they’re doing an amazing job. Highly recommend it if you’re craving real Indian flavours.

We visited Dakahin on a weekday evening. The restaurant is located on Melton Road, which is a prime and busy location. We ordered the Chilli Paneer, Plain Dosa, and Indian Tea. The tea was lovely, authentic and perfectly brewed. The paneer itself was nicely cooked, but the sauce tasted quite jar-like and overly tangy, and the dish was a bit oily overall. The dosa, although simple, was enjoyable and well-made, served with chutneys that complemented it nicely. On the downside, the restaurant interior felt quite rundown and dated. The tables and chairs were cramped and wobbly, making it a bit awkward to sit comfortably. The toilets, especially the ladies’, were not really usable, which was disappointing. Service could have been better too, as despite us being the only diners, the staff were mostly in the back, and there was quite a bit of background noise. It is also worth noting that this is a cash only place and no card payments are accepted, which can be inconvenient. On a positive note, it is cheap and cheerful, and reasonably priced compared to other places serving similar food of the same quality. It is a shame because the food has potential, but the overall atmosphere and upkeep really let it down.

Keep coming back for their samosa chaat an not even had a chance to even try anything else. Exceptional service, product and packaging!

Food is good but service is unbelievably bad. They could do much better with hygiene and new table and chairs which are clean.

Great food and brilliant atmosphere, amazingly friendly waiters and waitresses. The reason for the missing star is that one set of cutlery was unclean. Overall I give it a 4/5 for hygiene and a 5/5 for service, food, friendliness and everything else
