Food was okay, usually it’s the best around but on my last visit the chips weren’t fresh and the battered sausage was but with puddles of grease pouring from it. Also my last visit there was SO MANY flies crawling over the sides and the staffs clothing, when looking around I didn’t see any zappers so maybe it’s a good idea to purchase some now the warm weather has arrived?! Was very off putting seeing the amount of flies flying and crawling around the sides and food.

The kebabs are nice as are the chips. really good portions. So why the 1 star? Because last time we ordered from here (March 8th) me, my partner and my son all suffered from food poisoning. Sadly we will never order from here again, unless they improve their hygiene rating, which is currently a 2 out of 5.

On my first visit to Beacon Fish Bar, I was disappointed with the service. Despite being a takeaway place, there was a complete lack of basic greetings, smiles, or even eye contact. With two people in front of me, I was unsure whether to place my order or wait. Since no one acknowledged me, I decided to wait. However, the situation became even more confusing as more people entered the shop. Some went straight to the till area, leaving me to assume they had ordered online or over the phone. After waiting for a whole 15 minutes, the person behind the till finally looked at me without a smile and asked what I wanted. I placed my order and paid, but there was no indication of how long I had to wait. I had to position myself back in the queue without any guidance. Another 15 minutes passed before I received my order. This whole experience felt awkward and rude. Although the food itself was good, I don't think I will be returning to Beacon Fish Bar. While I didn't expect a lengthy conversation, a simple hello and thank you are essential for a pleasant customer experience. It's worth noting that there is some free parking available on the road, but it can get quite busy due to another food place and a shop nearby.

This place used to be really good but gone down hill. They have put the prices up and made the portions smaller always in consistent with portion sizes especially the chips.Black and stale chips probably a day old, burnt doner which was chewy and disgusting naan was soaked in doner juice (fat) which was sickening asked for salad just lettuce and onions and the guy was counting the strands of lettuce he was putting on my kebab which there was hardly any was the same a month ago thought id give it another try but still the same. I think its time to find a decent kebab shop. Avoid unless u want to be disappointed.

The kebab could be improved, I don’t think it’s rocket science… sauce, salad, meat and abit more sauce. Not loads of meat stuffed at the end of the pitta, a tiny bit of salad and one squirt of sauce

I found the price competitive, the nan's are cooked well & taste great. The batter on the fish could do with some more work, like coating all of the fish. The chips are fantastic in taste & texture. The pizza was good, base & topping tasty. The onions in the salad I prefer, if they were sliced smaller. Overall I would say standard chippy.

Placed our order. After an hour received phone call saying menu had been updated 5 months previous but they hadn't thought about updating it online. So reordered and told would be 20 minutes maximum, this turned out to be another 50 minutes. In this time I called them and the woman on the phone was very rude, did not listen to me and then abruptly hung up. Will not be using these again, disappointing too as used to be a good place to order from. Avoid at all costs

Friday 6th May 2022. This was my second visit to the location, the first being about 6 months ago - on that occasion, service was swift and the food excellent, pricing was reasonable too. Confident I would have a similar experience, I came back - and now wish I hadn’t bothered. There seems to have been a massive change in the staff, and the pricing arrangements. Everything - and I mean everything seems to be charged for. You want Extra sauces? Hand over more money. You want Extra salad? Hand over more money. You want an extra paper bag? Hand over more money. Chaotic ordering and service process…. I saw people walk out, frustrated at the delays. Mumbling and seemingly clueless servers, and very little cooperative working between the staff. Waited 40 minutes for a 5 person order. I struggled to reconcile how much each person owed me, despite writing down the prices posted on the display in the shop. I won’t be returning here for a third time.
