Great to have a very different curry. The Keralan dishes were something we hadn’t tried before but we were not disappointed. The flavors were fantastic. A little on the pricy side but didn’t seem to stop anyone as it was packed. I’d come here again without a second thought

Highly recommend! The staff were warm and attentive and the food was truly delicious. It’s ideal for ordering a variety of dishes to share with a group. They even handed out Kerala postcards at the end and offered to send them out if within the UK which was such a thoughtful touch. I’ll definitely be going again! :) x

Been coming here since 2008 back in my student days when I was very excited to finally find a south Indian restaurant (my parents are from Chennai). This is the second time I have taken my husband here. The food is fantastic, the staff are lovely and attentive, the atmosphere is magical. Tonight we both had a thali (hubby had the non veg and I had the seafood). The fish curry is a knockout. The thali came with dessert which was lovely and luckily it wasn't too filling.

I had an amazing dinner at Kayal Leicester. Every dish I tried Poth Ularthiyath, Kanthari Chicken, Pal Kappa, Meen Porichathu, Tilapia Pollichathu, Kozhi Kurumulak, appam, kal appam, Kerala porotta, and Seafood Biriyani was bursting with authentic Kerala flavors. The seafood was incredibly fresh, and the banana leaf presentation added a lovely traditional touch. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, especially the interior and the staff were friendly and attentive, making the whole experience even better. Every detail felt authentic and thoughtfully done. If you love South Indian cuisine, this is hands down one of the best places in Leicester. Thank you for the wonderful dining experience.

Delicious and delicate Keralan cuisine, this is beyond simply curry! Coconut and aromatic spices are the stars. Plenty of seafood dishes, daily specials, variety of breads and rice. Atmosphere transports you to the coast, with giant pictures in the walls, relaxing music and opulent decoration. Good wine menu and non-alcoholic drinks. Reservations absolutely necessary on weekends and when there are sport events in the city as it is absolutely packed (unless you have time to wait for a while and not too hungry)

We got a walk in table on a Tuesday night. Place was packed with two large parties. There were 3 of us and we all got different options. The food was very tasty! Beers were good too with quick service. Nice vibe in this restaurant also but would 100% be back for the food

Recently dined here on a Friday evening. The Chicken Stew was creamy & tasty, and the accompanying breads fluffy. The service was quick and attentive. Couldn't fault. Worth a try if you're looking for something a little different.

Haven't been for a few years, but as good as I remembered!! Crab curry is fantastic and had the Chicken Stew for the first time, which was also full of flavours. Highly recommend Kayal for great service and amazing food!
