Quiet evening before the Sound of Music show at the curve. Not the first time we have been, and can't recommend it enough. If you are out of time, there is a very quick theatre menu where you get a selection. If you have a lot of time, you can make your own selection.... Quality food, service.... and impeccable timing.

Have been to Chutney Ivy a few times just before we go over to watch a show at the Curve. Come on Shaf what are you doing?? The food quality has gone downhill over the last 3-4 years. This used to be the premier Indian Restaurant in Leicester City Centre and the food used to be amazing. My partner is a vegetarian and loves a daal dish. The daal used to be thick and spicy. What we got resembled watery diarrhoea with rock hard gritted daal in it. We asked for a replacement and got more of the same. The naan slices were cold and stale and looks like we were given someone's leftover naan. The starters have shrunk, the main curry dishes now come with a few morsels of meat in them and the rest is all sauce, barely enough for 2. The prices have gone up and the service leaves a lot to be desired. The waiter ended up forgetting our drinks order. We've since ended up going to The Broadway in Leicester instead where the food is out of this world - just like it used to be a long time ago at Chutney Ivy. We won't be going back there again.
Went here for a night out with work colleagues, 40 pounds a head, the food wasn't worth the money, I was expecting something decent for the money, we got mediocre at best. Also took a couple of hours to get the mains out, even though it was sort of buffet style, we ore ordered weeks in advance and they delivered 3 different currys to table with rice bowls. The curry bowls were quite small definitely not enough to go around. This place has a good reputation, on this evidence I'm not sure why? I had a good night out overall but this place let us down. Don't waste your money here.
Had the banquet for a large group of friends to celebrate, the team could not have been better. Friendly, accommodating, as well as brilliant food/drink. Highly recommend Harrison
Came from Lincoln to Curve theatre - first time in this theatre and can't believe our first visit to Chutney Ivy! Had our daughter with us who's pregnant, and needed a lighter curry, due to not wanting excessive heartburn, but a tasty meal. All really enjoyable, great tasting and presented meal. Good value @12.50 per head set meal. Lovely staff, and obvious returning customers, who staff chatted to and were familiar with. Always a good sign. Will recommend and hope to go back.
Loved the food here and the menu has choices.for everyone - those less adventurous who want a more English curry to those who prefer something a little more traditional. Lovely birthday cakes appeared for one of our group. Relaxed and inviting atmosphere.
We booked a table of 4 to eat in the restaurant this weekend and had a very unpleasant experience, upon arrival we were seated after some confusion over our booking and handed our menus. Two of which had curry stains on which the waiting staff were made aware of, one walked off and we had to wait for the manager came over, he apologised and replaced them with fresh ones. We ordered the poppadoms with the drinks, little did we know that the poppadoms cost £9. Considering these are given on the house at most curry houses and were not warned of the extra cost at the time we felt like we had been massively ripped off. We ordered 3 starters to share between four and were again left disappointed with the portion sizes, for the price of what they charge for them we were left unsatisfied to say the least. A running theme for the mains as well, although the roti’s and rice were nice. In summary, I would avoid this place and look for somewhere else if you’re in the mood for an Indian. Overpriced food for the portion sizes, poor service and uncomfortable dining experience.
Customer service was great. All staff were helpful. Food was very average. Bit too bland for me. I'm fully Indian and like lots of flavour and spice. Kids really enjoyed everything. Me and hubby had the sharing taster menu so was nice to sample a few things. The kids had chicken a butter chicken. The loved every bit. Very pricy too. We had a voucher and still spent a lot.
