Fond memories of this pub from many years ago and as the temperature dropped this week, we were looking toward to a cosy pub dinner, but it was very cool inside with most people leaving coats/jumpers on. Food was OK, very fatty Lamb and a steak pie which was good but came out with the type of heat you only get from a microwave. Veg sides were boiled sliced carrot/cabbage with no seasoning at all. Staff were pleasant enough but no music at the end of the pub where we ate so everyone was very quiet as you could everyone’s conversations.

A propwr pub, the way it should be. I went for the first time recently and was very pleased. The food was nice and very well priced, maybe the portions a little too big? The staff were friendly. I liked that it was a mix of everything, couple or families dining, old blokes propping up the bar and a baby shower. Fab, will definitely go back.

The food is excellent also affordable. The beer prices are Leeds prices £5 a pint for Coors. Two real ales- Black Sheep Blond and Black Sheep Best at £4.70 a pint. Great service . I would not recommend it as a local unless you have deep pockets..

The food was very good quality and brought to our table piping hot so we could tell it hadn't just been left out. The portion sizes were generous and we were both stuffed, even skipped pudding! The staff were really polite and attentive. If you want to go home with a full belly, this is a good place to go.

The atmosphere is very homey when coming in, lovely service and excellent menu. The food was a bit pricey but for the size of the portion , its completely worth it. By far the most delicious Gammon Steak I ever had. Eggs were cooked to perfection and so were the chips and veg. Definitely recommend coming back to this wonderful pub.

Came here for dinner yesterday on the recommendation of a friend. Glad we did! Food was great, obviously home cooked, and very generous portions. Even though the pub was busy our meals came out promptly and the service was lovely too. Spot on.

We came across this little gem after hiking. Everything is homemade and the food was the best we've had in a long long time. Friendly courteous staff and very reasonable prices. We will be back with our friends. Well worth the drive from over the Pennines.

Good selection of food on menu, I'd reduce it to half to save the chefs from going mad. Nice, wholesome meals with taste and portion size is good. Good selection of puddings especially the lemon cheesecake which had a lovely buttery biscuit base and the mascapony topping was sweet and creamy all home made and not baked which wife prefers and if this quality can be maintained she will be back weekly! Big piece too which makes you feel you have been given a treat and not the usual slither you get in other venues. Waiting staff all try hard to please and the restaurant manager has the most warm and caring smile
