The perfect comfort food to remind us of Prague! Authentic delicious stews and perfect fluffy bread dumplings. My family go for a meal with friends and the staff are lovely. It is sometimes quiet but it is so warm and cosy. Roughly £30 pp included a drink starter AND main. Some of us had lovely puddings too.

Great food and service! The only thing what they could improve is to make a better home made salad. The potato and sausage soup was delicious!

I had lunch at Tatra on Saturday and I really enjoyed food, service and atmosphere. A first ever visit in an authentic Slovak-Czech dining corner - a very pleasant experience overall. Food was traditionally prepared and one could appreciate freshness and quality of ingredients. I had sauerkraut soup, followed by beef tenderloin. As a dessert, I tried the classic cake, Marlenka, accompanied by a Wien-style coffee (see pictures). The meal was much appreciated and we were served after a short wait. Service was caring and kind. The lady was attentive and asked if we enjoyed the food. The restaurant is situated in a small building, with easy access to the main street leading to Leicester's railway Station. The little space and the simple yet cosy decor of the restaurant made us feel really cosy and gave the environment a very welcoming vibe. I strongly recommend it.

A lovely hidden gem! Stopped by with a friend for lunch and had the loveliest time. The food was great: generous portions, freshly cooked and very tasty! The service was lovely; it was like being in a friend’s house. I will definitely go back the next time I am in Leicester.

After hearing good reviews I decided to arrange a surprise birthday meal for my partners 30th birthday. I spoke to the manager over the phone to book it and he couldn’t have been more polite and helpful. Upon arrival the staff were very friendly and and couldn’t do enough to help organise everything for the surprise. Everyone said food and drink was good and at a reasonable price too. Next time we’re in Leicster city centre we will definitely be returning to try something else of the menu, highly recommend and thank you.

Really nice Czech restaurant with a good menu of standards, well prepared and presented and usually an excellent soup of the day. We visit Leicester every year for the comedy festival and Tatra Eastern Corner has been one of our go-to places for some years.

Beautiful food and atmosphere with a really nice host. Food was perfect and hearty but I must say the highlight was trying the many Slovak spirits. Very strong but super tasty! Will definitely be going back.

Wow Whilst visiting Leicester so my van could be dealer serviced at VW Leicester, headed in to the city centre to look for a MacDonalds. The city was quiet as it had just come out of its location Covid-19 lock down and in navigating the back streets I came across this place. Stunning ! Very pleasant staff, cleanly presented cafe/restaurant area and the food, well, that was just superb. I would not hesitate to return.
