Who thought you could ever get excited by onion rings! Really! They're different to any I've had before. Not to mention a Chicken Burger that was so fresh and tasty, double cooked chips and the best pint of Bass real ale you'll find in the area. The staff were friendly, efficient but not over fussy and the Boss opened the restaurant part for us as the rest of the pub was full - on a Wednesday!

Only had a nice pint of cider but the pub is beautifully located for countryside walks and has many outdoor benches to sit on and enjoy the views.

Sunday lunch with the family and didn’t disappoint. Our first visit for Sunday roast and certainly won’t be our last. We ordered both beef and turkey which were both cooked perfectly, lovely fresh vegetables and plenty of them. Be sure to add cauliflower in cheese you won’t be disappointed. The extra jug of delicious gravy didn't go to waste and was a nice touch without having to ask for it. Great meal, beautiful surroundings and lovely friendly staff, what more could you ask for. Look forward to coming again soon.

I used to visits this pub many times growing up with my family in the summer months in our visits to Wales. We would all pile into a van and set out on the narrow country lanes and arrive here excited to sit in the outdoor garden eat a packet of crisps and enjoy a shandy or ale. It has been bought out and is now part of a larger organization that owns over a thousand pubs in the UK but it is still a beautiful country pub. We did not enjoy our meal but we loved the pub and the staff. We ordered the curry special (chicken korma) and the chicken madras. The presentation of both were wonderful but the Norma was watery and bland. The chicken was scarce. Plenty of double cooked chips but they were dry as was the rice. The madras also had very little chicken and too much tomato paste and onions. The dessert was old and had been around a while. Overall I’d go back and try a more traditional dish based on others reviews but the curries failed to make the grade for the price of £18 each dish and £6.95 for the dessert. Beautiful pub and many great memories from 50+ years ago

Ultimate Sunday Lunch - fantastic for the second week running - generous portions of superb fresh vegetables, thick tender meat and roast potato and parsnips - topped off with a giant Yorkshire Pudding and additional gravy. Warm welcome and great service and no under 12 year old added to our experience as busy grandparents nice to a child free zone, for an hour or two.

Beautiful meal, nice traditional atmosphere and friendly staff. Would definitely recommend if you're passing by. I Went for the chicken a la creme and the cheesecake of the day which was malteser and white chocolate. Everybody in the party enjoyed their food.

Great place for food, dog friendly in the bar. Good choice of every day pub food but also some more refined options for an evening meal. Lovely log fires & large beer garden with tables and umbrellas for when summer makes its next experience. Enjoyed Hake and chips with crispy gusting and the best twice cooked home made chips. The black and blue cheese burger was also immense! Highly recommend.

Been taking my mother to try various places for Sunday dinner, forgot to book somewhere but Cefn Mably Arms was one of the next on the list to try, chanced it, recommend you book as they're busy, staff were super helpful and squeezed us in for a quick bit of food, staff were very friendly and lovely, service was top notch and the food was some of the best Sunday dinners we've had in a long time... 5 star isn't enough... fantastic place, love a top quality country pub type place. Can't wait to go back it's being put on the places to return list. The pork main was absolutely amazing, so was the cheese cake dessert and the whitebait starter tasted so fresh you'd think they caught it just before cooking it.

Wow, what a cracking place to eat! Food was amazing and really generously portioned, staff were lovely, and we spent our entire meal basking in the sun! Location is very picturesque too, and with outdoor seating and a beer garden, very dog friendly (that said, I think they allow dogs indoors too!). Will definitely be coming here again to sample the weekday menu - the Sunday roasts were epic!
