The best indian food we had ever had. The staff are really thoughtful and help the customers to find the best suitable food in case of spices and taste.
Used to live in Llanhilleth 2012 Tamarind was our go to Indian. Since moving to Cardiff nothing has compared. Working in Abertillery yesterday I pulled by to pick up a cheeky curry on the way home. 13 years later, still the best curry house in south wales.

I asked if a garlic chili chicken was possible, as it wasn’t listed on the menu, I was told ‘yes, no problem’ , oh my God ! I’ve had countless curries over the years & I can honestly say this dish was one of the best in flavour I’ve ever had, if not the best! , it was absolutely stunning! As was the starter, negatives being …the youngest staff member clearly didn’t want to be there, he was walking around the restaurant like a zombie ! He reached across to pick up my side plate, completely unannounced , while I was talking to my dining partner, his sleeve almost dragging in my food, very rude ! Also, I tried three different brands ( pints ) of lager, the carling xtra cold & the Kingfisher were almost warm , far from optimum temperate, although the pint of San Miguel was spot on, but I must say the positive does outweigh the negative, beautiful BIR cuisine !
Lovely food and great service, staff are amazing. Tables very tight together tonight compared to recent times though. I guess they’re trying to maximise income after a couple of nightmare years. Not sure I’d rush back as couldn’t hear ourselves speak we were that close to others.
It was my first experience with Indian food!Loved it! Stuff was very helpful explaining dishes & very friendly. Place is baby friendly as well! Food was delicious and portions decent! Highly recommend!! HIGHLY!
As good as it gets for Indian cuisine outside London suburbs. Staff are friendly, helpful and do their best to cater for specific requests as well. Nice ambience, spacious interiors and reasonable wait times for freshly made food.
