Had a lovely Sunday lunch (set menu or specials). Very friendly staff, selection of Everards beer and good value 2 or 3 courses. Worth a visit but book early for Sunday lunch .
Walking the Hoby to Somerby section of the Leicester Round. Popped in here for some drinks and a rest midway through the stretch. Pub is very handily placed for this walk, only 5 mins off the Leicester Round route. As we were sweaty and hot, we sat outside, lots of seating available in the beer garden. We only ordered soft drinks but the staff were really friendly and chatty. They also very kindly filled up our water bottles. We'll definitely be back to try the food offer.
We were off to Rutland Water the next day, so a perfect pub to stay for the night. Room was clean and adequate. Staff really friendly and accommodating. Food was superb. Would not hesitate to return.
Sunday lunch was absolutely delicious, and ample portions. We received a lovely warm welcome and everyone was so helpful and cheerful. Nothing was too much trouble. Will definitely be back.
We went for the Sunday lunch menu. The food was really delicious and presented so well and plentiful !The crumble was a little watery,but the service was outstanding! The waitress was hospitable and friendly. A lovely, traditional pub which also has modern elements. Just perfect.
We visited on Wednesday pie night from the moment we sat down service was prompt although we had pre-ordered the drinks came within a couple of minutes and the food followed soon after the pies were exceptional most enjoyable evening
We have not visited the Cheney Arms for a long time and on a good recommendation arrange to meet up with friends for lunch,having viewed their Web site. The service was first class,the menu had plenty of choice, drinks were served and a most enjoyable lunch was had by all. We must go back for the pie night. Definitely recommend the Cheney Arms.
Food has great, good portion size and tasty. Service was very quick too. Place was very full for a sat night which was nice to see.
Evening meal the night before Christmas Eve. The food and service was absolutely perfect. Each of the four meals we had was really excellent, would happily recommend the pub, the food and the staff. Happy Christmas.
We stayed here last night, booked all 4 rooms as we were attending my son’s wedding at Brooksby. We met and 4 of us had lunch in the restaurant, meals were beautiful, staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The rooms were beautiful, nicely decorated and furnished. There was scaffolding being put up but we had been advised of this prior to our stay and given the option to cancel, however, this was not a problem. Mark, Louise and staff were great and i would thoroughly recommend both eating and staying here. Thank you
