In need of a good dose of tlc. The sticky tables need much more than a quick wipe down. Could do with a good old polishing. The wood panelling around the pub are covered in splatters and water marks. Again could do with a little attention to detail. On the surface the pub appears to be clean but it’s crying out for a deep clean above eye level. Opted for a breakfast, the bread arrived barely toasted and the rest of the food subpar. At best was the sausages but as for the rest of the contents they had been undercooked or overcooked. Ie the beans were lukewarm and the bacon was somewhat nuked. I wouldn’t entertain myself to another breakfast which had all the right items on the menu but poorly prepared. With a little more elbow grease and attention to detail this place could be a good contender. But I’m afraid there is a lack of enthusiasm and passion. Its low prices bring the punters in so why bother?

It's a Wetherspoons in a central location. Very busy lunch session, but thought the staff did well to get around everyone. - pro tip - always use the app! I had the jacket potato and cheese, came with salad, but needed to ask for butter. Tasty though and great value - Β£8.50 with a drink. You always know what you're going to get with a wetherspoons and this whilst not a stand out one, still a good choice.

The Central Bar - JD Wetherspoon I usually see this restaurant crowded during peak hours and I was curious if their service is good. I had visited them twice for drinks and found that the staffs are friendly and aproachanle. The environment is welcoming.

The Central Bar in Cardiff is your very typical Wetherspoons, just a lot smaller than most. I visited twice on the same weekend, at two very different times of day, including breakfast, and it was busy both times. I suspect the size of the venue plays a big part in that. There is more seating available upstairs, but during our visit they had closed it off. It was only opened later on once things got a bit too packed downstairs. Staff were all very polite and helpful. I also noticed that, unlike some other Wetherspoons, this one didn’t seem to attract the usual early morning drinkers, which made for a much more pleasant. The breakfast was exactly what you would expect. Most of the ingredients are either pre prepared or follow a set recipe that is used across all branches. So the food is usually consistent no matter which Wetherspoons you go to. Overall, it’s a decent little Wetherspoons. Nothing special, but it does the job.

Well its a Spoons so you know what to expect I guess. Good central location and always pretty busy. Usual Spoons menu and food usually arrives fast. Last visit I sat upstairs and ordered via the app. Food arrived very quickly but as I ordered an ale both my partner and myself has finished food before the drinks arrived. Was told as the ales were downstairs they had to wait for mine to be brought up. 30 minutes to walk a pint up some stairs seemed a long time mind. Moral of the story.... If you want a guest ale sit downstairs

It’s a good β€˜Spoons. Not much more to be said to be honest. Consistently decent food, but during uni term time it can get packed. I’d advise sitting upstairs in a booth if you can, that’s lovely.

A great Fish n chips if you are in Queen Street as it's just off the end of it. Smaller wetherspoon than usual and it was quite busy but still served in a reasonable time.
