My husband and I pre-booked a table to take my parents out for a nice meal and a few drinks. On arrival (12.12.2025), the lady at the front desk appeared unsure where to seat us and called over another member of staff, who I assumed was the manager. After some discussion, they decided to seat us upstairs. Unfortunately, upstairs there was a 21st birthday party taking place, with children running around and an extremely high level of noise. It was impossible to hold a conversation, which was not the experience we had booked or expected. I went downstairs to ask if we could be moved and was told there were no other tables available. However, there were several empty tables visible, which I assume were reserved. I feel we should at least have been offered one of these, or a table in the bar area, but instead it was a flat refusal with no attempt to accommodate us. We decided to leave and try elsewhere, but unfortunately we were unable to find another table, which completely ruined our evening. At no point did any member of staff apologise or acknowledge the inconvenience caused. I would strongly suggest that, in future, guests are contacted in advance if their table is going to be situated in or near a party or function, so they have the option to cancel or make alternative arrangements. Overall, this was a very disappointing experience.

Thank you so much to Marcus and his team for the wonderful, caring service they delivered at the wake for our Dear Dad on Wednesday. Everyone commented on how lovely the room was. We appreciated the use of the easel for our display of photos and the table for Dad's regimental flag, poppies and donation box. The food was of a very high standard.... lovely chips, fresh sandwiches any yummy desserts - especially the tiramisu. Thank you to you all! We are very grateful!

We held our mothers wake there. We arrived from the funeral across the road 10 mins early. We were not allowed to enter the premises until exactly 11.00am, our allotted time. The weather was cold and wet. Elderly relatives had to wait outside. We found the staff exceptionally rude and un obliging. We were aware that we had to pay per cup for teas and coffees and when there was not enough the staff would only release 3 cups at a time making us request on several occasions for more cups. There was two hot water jugs and only one jug of milk for the expected and paid for 30 people. When we went to pay our bill at the end of the function. The gentleman was very put out that we asked to see the bill and commented that we should've watched him type on the till. On a positive note the buffet food was plentiful, well presented and tasteful. I would certainly not recommend for a function

Stunning meal and service as always ! 10 of us dined to celebrate a birthday. The only feedback I have to improve - On 3 occasions food / dessert was brought to our table which was for another table. Unfortunately 2 meals brought to us were handled (salt & vinegar added) as same meal ordered but in fact it was for the another table where they seen what happened. These meals were not renewed but given then to the correct table. Felt really sorry for the other customers ! Who clearly werenβt happy β¦ I wouldnβt be either. But Iβm sure after a bit of training to staff of table numbers / food delivery this simple mistake wonβt happen again. Not a criticism just feedback to improve on your beautiful venue & food.

The food was lovely and the staff were very friendly, the atmosphere was brilliant. We did wait a short while for our dirty plates to be cleared even though staff had walked past and saw them. We had a starter each which was the buttermilk chicken strips and popcorn chicken they were very tasty and had just the right amount of spice added. For our mains I had the Katsu chicken burger which was lovely, and my Grandmother had the fish and chips, which was a quite large portion but she described it as beautiful. As for dessert we waited roughly 10-15 minutes for our order to be taken. The both of us had The chocolate brownie sundae which was beautiful but very filling after 2 courses so we didnβt finish them. I would 100% recommended the Ffynnon wen to a friend for a delicious meal in Cardiff.

Really loved this place, Sam and Kelly are fantastic hosts, nothing was too much trouble. A big thanks also to Angel our waitress, so helpful and polite. Lovely relaxed atomosphere with a great selection of drinks and the food was amazing, hats off to the Chef. I highly recommend Ffynnon Wen, we will definitely be coming back very soon.

Lovely large public house with outside beer garden. Plenty of car parking space. Food was delicious. My original choice was not available, however the veggie burger was tasty and it came with loads of fries. My friends' cowboy burger was very enjoyable as well. Only one little issue was that the fries were barely warm . We woofed them down all the same as we were hungry lol
