   Definitely recommend!! I am a 20 year old woman who knows nothing about cars so going to any garage is always a scare as there is the potential of my lack of knowledge allowing someone to upcharge me. But not here!! I went in as my check engine light was flashing, Andy talked me through the whole process explaining everything very clearly which was so kind and helpful. They got it all sorted for me within 24 hours and showed me the parts that were broken and explained exactly what happened and what they did to fix it. If you are having car trouble or need a MOT this is the place to go, you can tell that Andy and Mike are very knowledgeable and passionate about their jobs. Many thanks to the both of you!!

   As I'm fairly new to the world of driving I booked in my first MOT with Ferris Bros. The quality of customer service was excellent. Great communication where they explained to me what work was required and why and they also picked up my car from my home address and returned it way sooner than estimated. Also found the total cost of the work to be very fair. Will definitely use again.

   Massive rip off. Booked my car in for an MOT here. Initially they seemed lovely from my booking over the phone and when I dropped my car off. I was contacted the next day to say my car had failed as one of my headlights was not working and I had a broken coil spring. I informed him I didn’t know what the latter meant. He tried to explain it to me and then proceeded to tell me at best, this would cost £500 in repairs. He said once they get in there, it could be worse than expected in which case I’d be looking at up to £850. He made no mention of advisories. When I checked the certificate online, I had 2 advisories. I am unsure if the initial £500-850 quote was for repairs on 2 majors and 2 advisories but if this was the case, it should not have been assumed that I wanted the advisories to be repaired. I then asked if I could have my car back as I was due to be in work that night and needed my car for the next few days to be able to get to work. And that I would bring my car back to be repaired at the weekend when I was off work. He told me that was not allowed and it would be illegal for him to give me my car back and for me to drive around following a failed MOT. I informed him that I was under the impression I had 7 days/till my MOT expired to get the repairs done and he said this was not the case, the repairs would need to be done immedietly and again said it would be illegal for me to drive my car before the repairs were done. Upon googling this, it very clearly stated that if your old MOT is still in date (which mine was by 2 weeks), and as long as you didn’t fail on ‘dangerous’ faults, that it is completely legal to have your car back and to use it. It seems they tried to take advantage of the fact that I was young, a woman, and had limited knowledge on cars, by trying to blindside me saying I couldn’t have my car back as they didn’t want to run the risk of me taking it to a different garage. I was made to feel I had no choice but to give my permission for the repairs to be done and he said he promised to make it as cheap as possible, despite having just told me the cheapest would be £500. I then consulted with my dad, my brother and a friend who is a mechanic. I was told by my friend that a new spring would cost about £30, plus £170 to actually repair it. Then the new headlight would cost about £10. So already it was immedietly clear I was being ripped off with a £500-850 quote from Ferris Bros. I also rang another garage in Cardiff and asked for a quote to repair a broken coil spring. They quoted me £150-£175 and informed me that the quote from Ferris Bros was crazy and I was being ripped off. I then booked in with this garage for a new MOT and for the repairs. I rang Ferris Bros back to inform them that I’d been quoted £150 elsewhere and was not happy for them to proceed on the repairs on my car. I also asked why he told me it was illegal for me to have my car back and for me to use it, when that is not the case. He told me that he never said it was illegal, and claimed he had said I could have my car back but just wasn’t allowed to drive it around as if I hadn’t failed my MOT. When I tried to fight my case and say that he very clearly did say it was illegal and categorically wasn’t allowed my car back until repairs were done, he said ‘I’m not going to argue with you over the phone. Pick your car up in an hour’ and hung up the phone. When I went to pick my car up and pay for the MOT, he gave me my certificate and made a point of writing down their number for me to arrange a retest. I most certainly will not be arranging a retest with them. I will not use this garage again and would not reccomend it to anyone. Update: I went to the other garage that I mentioned in this review that quoted me £150 for the repairs. They did the full repairs and a new MOT for just £180, compared to Ferris Bros quote of £500-850. Very grateful that I managed to find a garage that doesn’t take advantage of young women.

   The Ferris Bros did a fantastic job replacing the heater blower on my Vauxhall Corsa. Andrew was friendly, communicative and transparent throughout. I called them up and they diagnosed my car on the same day and provided me with a quote for the works. Their quote was accurate and there were no hidden surprises which was a massive relief. They had to order in a part for me and they talked me through exactly what needed to be replaced. Unfortunately the part was not immediately available but they endeavoured to go above and beyond to speed up the process. Once the part arrived they fitted it immediately and the car was ready to pick up the same morning. It’s clear that these guys are very passionate about what they do, and that they do a very thorough job and don’t try and cut corners. I’m confident that I couldn’t have got a better service anywhere else. They even checked my tyre pressures and oil out of courtesy. Would highly recommend.

   Professional and reliable. We recently took my girlfriend‘s car to the garage for an inspection as it wasn’t getting any power. After the initial inspection we decided not to go ahead with the work required to get it back on the road due to the cars high mileage. The garage was very honest with us and took us through our options. They helped us step-by-step to purchase a new car and also helped us arrange the trade in of our current car. They were absolutely fantastic every step of the way and made sure everything ran smoothly and that we were happy with all decisions made. Highly recommended and shall be returning for MOTs and any future work.

   I have used Ferris Brothers for a number of years and have always had excellent service from them. I find them polite, courteous and very helpful. Everything that needs to be done is explained and quotes for the work are very accurate, so there are no nasty surprises with the bill. As a woman I feel very comfortable dealing with them. I find them to be very honest and trustworthy and would highly recommend them.
