   It's the first time I have been to the Milestone. I went with my sister and her husband. I must say we throughly enjoyed ourselves. The service, food and atmosphere was great. The food is reasonably priced but good quality. I had fish and chips. Probably the best I have had for a very long time. If you're close by try it.

   We are staying on the campsite in Ripponden and wanted to find somewhere for Sunday lunch. We called in yesterday to check that dogs are allowed and we were told yes but only in the bar area, which is fine by us as we respect that not everyone wants to be near dogs. The girl reserved us a table and when we arrived today remembered immediately and took us to a really nice area at the side of the bar were people with dogs were dining. We chose the set Sunday menu and my husband had the prawn cocktail to start which looked amazing and probably enough for both us. We both had the roast beef and were given the option of having it pink or more well down. The portions were very generous with a mixture lots of fresh vegetables, we both said probably the best roast we have had for a long time. We were both stuffed and both the dogs got plenty of beef too! It might look a little on the pricier side but the girl who served us was excellent, very friendly and efficient. We will definitely return if in the area.

   Gluten free fish and chips! This place is not to be missed if you have a gluten intolerance. The fish and chip option was generously sized and very tasty. I also had a gluten free prawn tempura. Our waitress informed us that they make all of their batter gluten free to reduce the risk of cross contamination. Its recognised by the establishment that it makes life easier for everyone. This was brilliant to hear.

   We have just returned from s stay here at the weekend for one night following a wedding at the venue, bowers mill. The location was ideal for us as it was a 5 min drive away from the venue. It’s situated in a nice area with a few shops nearby. The rooms were basic but very clean and modern. All we needed really. We also had a cooked breakfast in the morning downstairs in the main pub, it was very tasty and the portion size was generous. The one downside were the walls were very thin so you could hear what was going on in the rooms next to you. Other than that, it was a great stay for our circumstances.

   Absolute gem of a place. I arrived late after my car broke down and the wonderful staff made me so welcome, no request is too much for them. Great room and shower. Gorgeous meal, wine and cocktails both nights. I will be back

   Great place to stay. Lovely furnished rooms, spotless, comfy bed. We ate in the restaurant food very good great atmosphere and service. Very friendly staff. Great value for money. Would recommend.

   The chef 'Patrick' never disappoints, he only gets better! Our food last night was excellent. Its the 2nd time I've had the sea bass and risotto, and I'm certain I will have it again - it was beautiful! The others dining with me were delighted by everything that was put out on the table. Sharing a selection of starters/side dishes and then our own choice of main; sea bass, tuna and lamb kleftico. Excellent food, great atmosphere and always great service!
