I can't rate the rooms because we stayed in the pods which were excellent. The breakfasts wonderful and tasty. It was an ideal base for walking the St Alkelda pilgrimage

All was great!! Apart from self catering kitchen size! It should be double!!!! Cannot imagine how crowded it must be when hostel is fully booked. Thanks a lot!! Definitely recommending.

Amazing hostel. Rooms are perfect sizes and are clean. Shared bathrooms were also spotless. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the breakfasts were delicious. Hostel is in an incredible location, accessible by public transport (we trained and used the bus to Malham). The countryside is beautiful there as well, and offers lots of different types of walks. Such an amazing trip for the price we paid. We’d love to come back. Would highly recommend!!

I recently took my year 5 class for a residential here. We stayed at the YHA and did their geography package, which meant we had 2 guides with us for 3 days. It was fantastic - the children had such an amazing time and the activities were so well planned and executed. The accommodation at YHA was clean and convenient. The children did not have a bad word to say about the food (which is amazing for 33 10 year olds) they particularly loved the breakfast!!! Staff were unbelievably helpful and accommodated to all dietary needs, they really went above and beyond. I felt at ease there that the children were safe and all safety precautions were explained thoroughly to staff. Our guides were with us from 8:30am to 8:30pm. A brilliant trip and we have already re booked!!!! Thank you!

Worst hostel experience of my life. First, I have to pay 40 pounds instead of 15 for one bed, because I just show up and there is only an empty 6 bed room, and they feel like charging me for a private room instead, though I had to use shared toilet and shower on top of the unwelcome price. Then when people start to move and pack on the above floors the noise just gets unbearable. Both deep bangs and squiking floor desks are constant. The curtain is too small for the window to properly block the light and is dirty like a month old table cloth. The blanket is the narrowest one I have seen in my life. I could have a better nights sleep in my car for free.

Great place, kitchen is separate from the main building but fully equipped.

I stayed in the room 19, which is really good. The location is awesome. Self cooking facilities is also good. I don't recommend the breakfast provided by them, as it's better to prepare your own economically.

Enjoyed the place. A good kitchen. Great location. Only criticism was a bad sleep, as the bedding, a thick duvet/doona was way too hot.

Little hostel in a great location with comfortable beds. But…! It’s in dire need of a some TLC - creaking floorboards, slamming doors, squeaky hinges. Would have been OK if other guests kept to the quiet times but we had an exceptionally loud group of heavy footed people up until 2am this morning. Very tired - very unimpressed!
