Woodside Medical Centre is an excellent GP practice. Right from the care navigators to seeing the GP, the whole journey goes well everytime. Have seen several GPs and all gave been caring and above all listen to your concerns. Recently have been seeing Dr James and nurse Kayleigh, both have been very supportive to give the best course of treatment. So thank you for all your hard work...

Used the call back option as there were more than 30 people in the queue for appointments. Had the choice of face to face or phone call. Saw Dr James in person. New self check-in system is much improved. As always he listened to my concerns. Dr James ensures that you understand, and are happy with the plan of action, as well as being genuinely caring and compassionate. Thanks!

A managed to get an appointment and saw the doctor I wanted. He spent time with me going through my hospital results. I am generally happy with the practice. I had had a text telling me to make an appointment as they had my test results. Why do I need to spend time at 8.00 am trying to get an appointment, why was one not made by the practice and sent with the text?

I have always had a fantastic experience with this surgery. Particularly in the last couple of months, I have consulted with Dr Chadwick and Dr Bains and Tracey on reception. The phone system works well. Tracey has always been very friendly and efficient, even at peak times when there must be lots of demand on her. I can always get an appointment if I really need one. I have received wonderful care from all the GPs there, especially Dr Chadwick and Dr Bains. They always made me feel they had time to listen properly, clarify, validated my concerns and gave such good advice. Can’t thank them enough for the care they provide.

Avoid with 5ft pole. Rang at 07.59 to finally talk with rude receptionist who said everything is full, I should of rang earlier and to ring tomorrow, when I say I need to speak about my medication it is an emergency she responded that 'as I said ring back tomorow' no compassion for people

You can't get though to them and when you do you're welcomed by rude receptionist who will tell you that the reason for my call is not important and make me feel like I have bothered the receptionist. Horrible experience. There is a younger lad that is very polite and helpful but don't often get to speak with him 9/10 it will be life depressed receptionist who will talk to you in a rude manner and tone, but if you were to even mention it - they will just ban you from the surgery. Disgusting

Surgery is very intrusive into personal life and opinionated. They have personal opinions on what you should or should not do which has nothing to do with medical science, facts, requirements, regulations. Oh, and they called me fat after taking my weight. Absolute rubbish.

Doctors and nurse are so understanding and have been really helpful during my pregnancy and now after my pregnancy with my little one. Were a couple of occasions where forms weren’t given to me till the last minute when I had to ask for them as I didn’t even know about these forms till my work requested them, they sorted this straight away for me (thank you to the lovely receptionist that sorted this for me) but they are so busy and you never see the same midwife at the practice which isn’t their fault. Some of the receptionist on the other hand (not all) are so rude. You call up to discuss what’s wrong and they are very stroppy with their tone of voice and even at the desk are not welcoming and smiley. Other receptionist I have spoken to at the practice on the other hand have been lovely and it’s been such a relief speaking to them to the point I have voiced to my family, who are also with the practice, how much of a relief it is to finally be talking to a receptionist who actually tries everything they can to help. There has been occasions where appointments have been booked in wrong after being told everything is sorted which I understand mistakes happen when they are busy but it has been a few times. I personally feel your job as a receptionist at a doctors practice is to be welcoming and understanding which some of them are rather than being very unwelcoming and making you feel uncomfortable.

Almost impossible to get an appointment, the doctors seem to be inaccessible, the receptionists block any attempt to try and get an appointment by any means necessary, I went in to try to see doctor I was told I cannot try and book now I have to ring at 8 in morning, so I jumped through that unnecessary hoop only to try ringing over 100 times still not getting through by the third day of not getting through I ran out of credit on my phone so at 8 in the morning ii went down there only to be told you have to ring but when I told the cold receptionist I have used my credit up and cannot ring now, she simply looked at me and said well you need to ring up in the morning. Obviously now I’m starting to get upset I simply say this is ridiculous I didn’t shout or get aggressive in anyway at all but it seems that was enough for this “receptionist” to accuse me of being aggressive and threatening to have me banned from the surgery of course that did make me upset when I turned to the “receptionist” and said “excuse me, how dare you” it seems that was angry enough for her to accuse me of being extremely aggressive and threatening to call the police. So to sum up you cannot get an appointment (even if you get past all the obstacle they have created just to dissuade you from coming to the surgery) and if you complain even in the slightest then the receptionist will threaten to kick you off the book’s completely or call the police on you simply because you are ill and need a doctor.
