Prior to becoming a first time pet owner, popped in to the Ickenham branch for some advice on practical things such as insurance, costs etc .. About 10 days later, Luna (ShihTzu) joined the family. Registered at Goddard Vets and got a free health check, which went well and the vet provided some useful info as its a big learning curve for us. Had a lovely chat with Alison prior to leaving and she also gave some great advice ! Thanks very much

Would be 5 star based on vetinary care. The staff are compassionate and kind and caring. But why are vets so expensive? We spent a fortune on our dog who sadly didn’t make it as he had cancer. Also would be useful if bills were itemised and split between medication and cost of consultation. Vets are professionals and their time should be expensive but vets seem dearer than private dentists

I recently visited Goddard’s in Ickenham for a routine check-up for my 14-year-old dog. While the practice is clean and the staff are friendly, I left feeling disappointed by the experience. The check-up was meant to be free, but I was unexpectedly charged £49.50 without any clear explanation of what exactly the fee was for. During the exam, the vet checked my dog’s teeth and immediately pushed for a dental cleaning and possible extractions. While I understand this might be necessary, the way it was handled felt more like a sales pitch than genuine care. Additionally, the vet found a potential heart murmur and recommended expensive tests, including x-rays and scans, with a quoted price of over £1,100. I was surprised by how quickly they wanted to push forward with these procedures without suggesting any alternatives or second opinions. When I expressed concern about the cost, I was referred to charities rather than being offered more affordable options. It feels like vets these days are more focused on making money than caring for pets. Every visit seems to come with new tests, products, and treatments being pushed, but without much focus on discussing practical, day-to-day things I could do to improve my dog’s health, like dietary advice. I understand vets need to recommend treatment when necessary, but I believe it should be done with more transparency and less pressure on pet owners.

I took both kittens to the vets Marley had a kitten check and worming treatment which he decided we could all share with him. Hugo had his 2 Nd injection today. The vet was very understanding when Marley attacked her and cut her finger. The staff are very helpful and friendly.

In complete contrast the Locum Vet I saw in this branch was appalling and she must be expecting me to write a bad review. Why you may ask? Firstly I came with a very sick looking, frail, thin cat in a carrier, she spend at least half of the appt in what felt like an interogation on front of her computer. Finally when I asked if she had any intentions of actually looking at my cat she became all ' corporate,' saying she sensed some negative tones. Yes indeed I wanted her to look at the very sick cat which I was upset at watching her in pain. . It was like getting blood out of a stone, asking her for some diagnosis. The best I got was that they would have to do blood test and she was more worried about telling me the cost and almost blaming me for not having brought her their before, (she has been a happy home deaf cat for years with no problems) something she did not quite understand.. No interest in my poor cat. Guess what she died last night ...and I don't have clue why. So thanks Ms Locum Vet, you didn't even think to help my cat or Indeed offer a half decent level of customer service. Sure it won't take this surgery long to work out when my appt was last week. If indeed they care about their animals....or just the money?!

Don't know why my rating on this veterinary service was bad, far from it. Excellent service, wonderful staff, sorry I had to leave. Be assured that your pets will be well looked after

We cannot express how grateful we are for the amazing service received from the Ickenham branch. Our lovely dog was an old boy when we moved from a vet in Hillingdon last year (had an awful experience) and we were made to feel very very welcome. Our only regret is that we didn't move over sooner! The vets are honest, passionate, sensitive and understanding. And, we cannot speak highly enough of Dawn & Alison, they are so kind, always making a fuss of our poorly dog and we knew when the sad day arrived last week we were in the best hands. Will always recommend Goddards Ickenham and if we are to get another pet in the future we will be right back to register! Thank you so much, you're the best!

My cat was treated by this clinic for ten years, and I cannot fault the service and care she received in any way. The staff have all been wonderful. I have to especially thank Dawn and Allison, who have always been so kind and helpful, giving me advice over the phone and being friendly and supportive at the clinic itself. Being a young pet owner, it was very reassuring to have such a great team to rely on. I knew my cat was in good hands here through her whole life, and would happily bring future pets to the Ickenham clinic if I wasn't moving away.

Took our new puppy here for his first vaccination, was very happy with how the vet handled and looked after him, especially as he's quite an anxious little one. Pricing was very fair and I didn't feel like they were just after making money like other vetinaries I had visited. I came away feeling like I'd received great service and good advice. Will definitely be using in the future.
