This hotel desperately needs an upgrade. Rooms 14 & 21 have massive cracks in the sinks. The WiFi doesn’t reach to room 21 (so I moved to 14). The room was way too warm - in October! The rooms don’t have Smart TVs and you can hear other guests through the paper thin walls. They only had 1 staff member in the bar who was serving drinks, taking orders and running food. He had to keep asking the receptionist to clear tables for him. He was AN EXCEPTIONAL worker. Stayed polite & did the job of 3 people without flapping. He was the best thing about the stay (7 Oct ‘25)

I was pleasantly surprised at the room although it was a little dated it was very clean, tidy and comfortable. No traffic noise on the rooms at the back even with the window open. Breakfast was average but plenty of hot & continental choices, the chef was replenishing everything even towards the end of the sitting. Music or a tv on in the breakfast room is needed though it was deathly quiet with only a few people in there.. My only gripe really would be how thin the bedroom walls were, I could hear someone on the phone loud and clear. Didn’t get a chance to sample the bar or restaurant.

The hotel exceeded my expectations! Friendly and polite staff! The bathroom was spacious, the shower had perfect water flow, and the shower gel was good. The bed was comfortable with good linens. I had the unfortunate mishap of forgetting my wallet. They called me to let me know they'd found it and left it in the safe. Thank you to everyone at the hotel!

Rooms are great value for money as they are very cheap. Staff, especially David were not only friendly but went above and beyond to accommodate for my wife. However, you get what you pay for, the standard rooms can feel stuffy especially in the hot weather as they are small and the windows don't open much. It feels a little dated too. The deluxe/luxury room however, is spacious and has better ventilation and is more modern. The location is decent as main towns and attractions are easily reachable by car but you have to travel a little. Overall though, it is great value for money per night and service and amenities provided are satisfactory. A full 5* from me

My wife and I stayed here for 4 nights as part of an Acklams tour, and we were thoroughly impressed. The staff were very friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. Our room was quite large, very clean and comfortable with excellent facilities - tea/coffee, WiFi, hairdryer, comfortable large bed etc. The food was excellent with hot/cold buffet breakfast and a varied evening dinner menu each night with large portions. It was very difficult to criticise this hotel with the only minor points being the lack of a grab handle or two to assist getting in/out of the bath/shower and maybe a warning sign in the bathroom to make guests aware of the very hot water ! Thoroughly recommend.

Always very clean bright and comfortable rooms whenever we stay here.. very friendly helpful staff. Would always recommend as a low cost effective way to be close to the city and motorway networks for an overnight stay & much cheaper option than 2 taxi journeys if its for a night out so you can still have a drink behind socialising. Will definitely return here for many years to come.

We booked the hotel for a party. The staff were excellent, and couldn't have been more helpful. This is the second time I've been here, and I would definitely go again. You can pay for their catering staff to do your food, or bring your own in. You get a private bar in the function room, and everything is lovely and clean. As far as I know, it's also all wheelchair accessible.

ADDITIONAL CHARGES. Got charged for car park at £5.00 per day even though it was before 1st Feb. Website states bookings made after 1st Jan for stays after 1st Feb will have a £5.00 per day car park charge. This equates to over 10% surcharge before anything else. I missed that on my booking: would not have stayed here otherwise. No electric shaving point in the bathroom. Good clean rooms. Comfy bed. Good value for money breakfast. Nothing special here. This is the standard I expect. 3 stars is standard for rooms, cleanliness, staff, food and overall performance. Now, if someone had turned my bed down, warmed the sheets, made me a malted bedtime drink and served me breakfast in bed, that gets five stars. Get real people and stop putting 4/5 stars for standard service.

My partner and I stopped over here for one night. Room was basic but clean and tidy which are the most important things! Staff were friendly, helpful and polite at all times which really made our stay a pleasure. The food was nice with the option to eat in the restaurant or in the bar/lounge area. Easy to find with ample parking and ‘women’s only’ bays which is a nice touch. Very good value for money. Would definitely recommend.

The room was we stayed in was well maintained with a warm and cozy feeling from the moment we set foot inside, the bed was a good night's worth. The bathroom was a rather dull yet clean looking grey colour although the shower screen door was leaking water onto the floor, which we need to place a towel to stem the flow. We opted to pay for the breakfast for both nights of our stay and were pleasantly surprised that it was to a higher standard than we were expecting, although the sausages were the only slight negative. Overall it was a good stay for the duration and we would happily stay again.
