Really lovely B&B, short and easy walk from the station and the beach. Delicious breakfast and perfect size bedroom and en-suite. There’s a convenience store a few doors down which is handy.

Me and my mom have just arrived back home from a 3 night stay at Gail’s, visiting Barry Island. Location was ideal as it only took 10/15 minutes to walk to the beach and amusements. Lyndon made a fabulous breakfast each morning, lovely chatty gentleman. Room was clean and bed was comfortable! Will definitely return in the future.

Gail's Guest House is in a great location to visit Barry Island, free parking is available on the street - beware for permit restrictions. The owners have provided a helpful map in reception area, showing where you can park for free. Our room was on the top floor and upon arrival it was well presented, we were grateful to be provided a Phillips fan as it was very warm! It was a shame to notice how dusty the inside of the fan was the next morning. Breakfast was included in the price of the room, pre-order was required. The breakfast was lovely and served with a smile. The bathroom was clean but the shower did have mould around the seal and inbetween the tiles - which was disappointing to see and I did mention this on my departure. We also had a family room but were only provided 2 mugs / plastic glasses - attention to detail and something that could be easily rectified. We all did sleep really well though and the beds were super comfortable. Overall, Gail's Guest House does represent good value for money.

this was a lovely place to stay in barry island. it’s in a convenient location right next to the train station and not far from the beach. the rooms were lovely and clean and accommodating with a tv with ITVX so we could tuck in and watch love island without any ads, which ended our night perfectly. the beds were super comfy it felt like i was sleeping on a cloud. the next morning we were greeted by Lyndon who made an excellent breakfast (all included in the price) and was very welcoming throughout our stay. we would highly recommend staying here if you are visiting barry island due to its convenient location and the b&b’s amazing hospitality. we will be sure to stay here again if we’re ever in barry island.

VEGAN FRIENDLY! My husband and I stayed here last night. If you are looking for glitz and glam this is not for you. If you are looking for comfortable beds, standard, clean, nicely decorated, comfortable, cosy and quiet rooms with a delicious breakfast thrown in that is also affordable, this is the place for you. The owners were friendly and helpful. When I asked if they did vegan options prior to booking they made sure they had plenty in for us. I had hash browns, toast (with especially brought in vegan spread just for us), mushrooms, tomatoes, beans, vegan sausages, fruit and I believe fresh orange juice. It was delicious! I highly recommend staying here. I was originally looking to stay at the premier inn as I have done in the past but the prices were ridiculous! I am so happy to have discovered this small family run independent business that has all the charm you would expect. Thank you again for our lovely stay :)

Not the best. We were in the attic room. The room was really dusty , because I have a dust allergy I actually had to wipe up some dust. The carpet was ripped in certain places. The TV was broken but the gentleman came up and switched it over, which we were very grateful for. When we first entered the property there was this horrible smell, couldn’t figure out what it was. The breakfast was disgusting, easily the worst breakfast I’ve ever had. It was the cheapest of the cheapest food quality.I had a few bits of the bacon and left the rest. The lady cooking the food seemed irritated and annoyed with everyone. The gentleman was really friendly though he was the best part! Would 100% not be staying here again. If you do stay here , don’t have the breakfast save yourself and go for breakfast somewhere else.
