Lovely little Inn with welcoming staff and tidy room. Decided this was a better shout than paying double the price for Premier Inn and I was right. Rough around the edges but that’s what I liked about it. If you’re a bit precious this place isn’t for you. If you like an authentic “Inn” feel don’t hesitate to book.

Ok for being the cheapest place to stay in the area, did sleep well, don’t expect anything modern though. Was put off by a female member of staff belching twice in my face, it wasn’t pleasant. Did find Weston-Supermare quite a nice tidy place though.

While we stayed in Oakover View guest house the Bear in was directly opposite. We popped in on our last night for a drink. Bar lady was very welcoming & served us straight away. Great location & have a few singers coming up for entertainment.

The most warmest welcome. Can't thank The Bear and their owners for the kind help. They were booked out but helped us find other accommodation. We stopped for well need and welcomed drink. Would recommend to anyone visiting.

It is a great place to go and relax with a drink and have a game of pool with my friend. It is a super and it is ideal as it is my local pub.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. This is a dog friendly pub. In fact Merlin loved to go to the bar as treats and cuddles were plentiful

Pub with occasional live music. This review is for the pub and music only - not the hotel! No frills pub with decent prices on a small range of well managed draught beers. Very friendly guys behind the bar. Friendly local people. You might be a bit put off by the decor and environment but at least the floor wasn't sticky as can sometimes be a problem in this type of place. Limited wi-fi - good enough to get by with. A little way out of the town centre (but that's great if you are staying a little way out the town centre :-) Top marks for hosting live music. Tonight's band incidentally were 'Hush'. It would bring the star rating for the pub down if I included a review of them in with the pub. That said, here's a few observations...... Rock classics covers, generally murdered by 5 talented individuals who sounded like they had never played together before. Bizarrely, the more complex Deep Purple covers sounded very good, yet the basics like 'House of the Rising Sun' and 'Schools' Out' were slaughtered. Rarely in time together - the vocalist even commenting that "We almost got that the timing right on that one" during 'Iron Man.' Yes - Black Sabbath's Iron Man - you cant get much simpler! The bassist playing Iron Maiden Bass riffs to everything and the drummer virtuoso ad-libs just enough to throw most of the band out of sync. I conducted a seance via the medium of iTunes walking home so that I wouldn't be scarred for life :-) Still - a great atmosphere and even some dancing! There is a Blackboard outside that lists the upcoming live bands dates - and those are the dates that I'll be going back! Cheers!

Stayed here last weekend as a group of 8. Apart from the 2 bar men being lovely and friendly the rest was disgusting. The room number 12 was stinking of dog. No wardrobe for clothes. No towels on arrival Had to park 2 streets away. Will never ever return. Weston in general has gone to the dogs.

Basic, small room. In need of renovation, but still reasonable value. Very pleasant service. Excellent beer served. Handy location for the beach. Limited parking. Dog friendly
