   Just had a stunningly rude phone call with the owner of these guys. Right from the off, he sounded like I had just woken up and could think of nothing he'd like to do less than speak to me about renting a place. It only got worse when I told him I was self employed. I make a good salary, have various income streams, happy to have a guarantor, an excellent credit rating and am happy to provide bank statements. We spent nearly ten minutes going round in circles with him trying everything not to actually do anything to get this property rented out. Apparently there was little point arranging a viewing for next week as it would be gone. He was absolutely befuddled at how a self employed person would get by without an accountant, and apparently I could be lying about everything without one. Not once did he ever ask me what I did for work, whether I could provide a guarantor, or would he explain what an accountant would provide other than this arbitrary idea of having one. Eventually I asked if we could move the conversation forward and whether or not we can arrange a viewing. The response: 'well I'm not very excited about you as a tenant.' Well yeah, no kidding, you sounded bored the minute you answered the phone. To be essentially told I would be a bad tenant, despite four years with the same landlord with a perfect reference and never having been asked what I do for work or what my income is, is crazy. To add insult to injury, he told me it was 'industry standard' and nobody will want me as a tenant. Thankfully, that's categorically untrue based on some of the much nicer conversations I've had today. LANDLORDS beware: this man is losing you money by refusing interesting parties based on his own weird judgements.

   Had an incredibly rude phone call from these people after I enquired about a flat, very aggressive from the beginning. He didn't like that we currently have guarantors and very patronisingly explained how payslips work and why you can't trust guarantors. Just an incredibly rude man and I would not rent from these people ever as a result!

   Tim has truly been an excellent agent. Throughout the process I have found him to be very honest, straightforward and helpful. He always sorted out any issues I had and always got back to be if there were any issues. It’s really rare to get an honest agent like Tim these days. If I’m ever looking for a flat in Cardiff again he is the first person I’ll call.
