They care more about the money than they care about the animals they treat. We changed to West Mount Vets and we couldn't be happier with this decision.

We have gone to companion care since my dog (American Akita) was 8 weeks old every single time they have been fantastic with socialisation classes and other check ups and vaccinations. Today they have once again impressed. Our dog required a surgery and throughout the surgery they kept us informed and went above and beyond to help keep him relaxed and comfortable. Tavi (the vet that did the surgery) was extremely accommodating to Elksons requirements given his large size and challenging temperament and nothing was an inconvenience he handled our dog with extreme skill and care. The vet nurses were very kind and gave us a run down of the surgery beforehand and were happy to answer any questions as well as helped ensure Elkson was relaxed as possible. They made it clear before the surgery the costs of the surgery including a break down to make it clear why the costs was what it was. They were also more than happy to do a direct claim to our insurance company. Whilst waiting for the surgery to be done the receptionist offered us drinks and was all round very pleasant and friendly. Overall they made a very unpleasant experience as pleasant as they can and this has left us with no doubt that this surgery is staffed with true animal lovers. I would give 6 stars if I could.

I do understand that you have a bussiness to make money, but usually you pay when you have received the service. At companion you have to pay prior any services received, waiting time for a perscription 5 days when ordered and paid for, that whats we have been advised. A lady had problems using the paying machine she was in distress while holding a wrapped up bundle of her euthanized pet. But bussiness is business i suppose.

Would not recommend.quoted Β£580 and then billed Β£1050!!! Took our cat in today as he was struggling to walk and looked like he was in pain. First of all the receptionist was rude and not even willing to to look into the membership telling me they didn’t have our details as they had not been transferred from other branch even though I had been to them some time back when my cat was not well. I was then quoted Β£550-Β£580 for some X-rays and checkup. And was made to pay the full amount before the treatment even though I showed them my insurance and pet plan with them. She refused to even listen to insurance person on the phone telling me to do a direct claim through the vets. she said just because insurance is saying this we have our own procedure we can not go through them you have to pay and claim from your insurance. When we went to collect our cat the bill had gone to Β£1050 which no one made us aware of before carrying out any extra scans they just decided to do other stuff without even getting my consent. Absolutely disgusting for a couple of X-rays and painkillers I’ve been charged almost Β£1050

I’ve been using this vet practice for years. I’ve always found all the staff to be helpful, knowledgeable and very professional. This morning my cat had an appointment with Tavi. Not only did Tavi look at the issue my cat had gone in for but looked at two other little issues as well. Not only is Tavi a great vet he is also a nice person. Very friendly, approachable and caring.

My wife tried to book an appointment to take our cat to the vet having had a swollen face arising from territorial disputes with neighbour’s cats. Our cat is now over 9 years old and whilst his booster was missed towards the tail end of last year, my wife and I had had covid followed shortly thereafter by the virus that swiftly did the rounds pre-Xmas. On ringing the vet at Companion Care the receptionist advised that we need to make an emergency appointment. My wife said that was not necessary but did they have an appointment the next day. They did but advised that because they hadn’t seen the cat last year, we would be paying over Β£117 just to attend! Clearly they thought they had an opportunity to charge the lost fee from last year! My wife stated they shouldn’t bother themselves and we would register him elsewhere. Β£76 later with consult and medication at Calder Vets, shows what a rip off these vets are. Won’t be returning! The last booster appointment here resulted in a 2 hour wait and then being asked to leave and rearrange! My wife insisted on waiting!

Highly satisfied with the vet and the reception staff! We’re very helpful. The pets at home staff at the Waterloo Huddersfield store were very poor. Ignored concerns for my pet which turned out to me correct! Will definitely visit the Leeds road store in future and not the Waterloo one.

The receptionist Tracey was friendly, polite and explained and helped me to sign up to the pet plan immediately. She explained what was included, the price breakdown and gave me leaflets to explain. The vet Tavi was amazing. So knowledgeable and understanding of my dog and his temperament. Knew exactly what to do and how to handle him. It was the first time I came to this practice having recently moved the area and I'm so relieved I've found such a friendly, caring practice with a vet who can help my dog Noodle. Thank you so much. Next time I won't feel so nervous to come along with my pup! :)

I took my old English bulldog because he had a problem with his ear. After a sort wait l saw a vet having explained the problem the vet tried to look at his ear with me helping him but no chance. So he took the dog into the back to get help with a nurse after 10 mins ish he called me me in and told me he could not get to look at his ear but give me eas wash and ear drops. How did he know that would help ? So left to pay which when the receptionis gave me the bill even she looked a bit surprised at the cost Β£105 wow. Could have got the same stuff of amazon for Β£7,50 and Β£12 ish
