Nice 2 day break away. Sauna not working or the jacuzi. Spa needs a bit of tlc. Swimming pool a nice size and steam room ok. Restaurant in a beatiful location overlooking the canal. Even though it was dark and cold outside you could still sit in conservatory and enjoy looking out. Even the swans swim up and down in the lights. Room a lovely size with views out across the hills and a nice size walk in shower. Nice bar and a big lounge to sit and relax in. Good value for money. Will definatly return

We booked a family room as our daughter is disabled and in a wheelchair, when given our room the bathroom was not wheelchair friendly, the door would not shut as loose hinges and door handle came off in my hand, 1 screw in it. Management were great, moved us into a different room that was perfect for our needs. The bar area was nice and location not too bad, about 1.5 miles from Skipton Town centre.

My wife and myself stayed here in October for a weekend break. We had free use of the gym and pool which was a really nice bonus. The receptionist Sharon was extremely friendly and helpful. The buffet breakfast is first class with both continental and cooked English. We will definitely be back!

Afternoon Tea - I took my Mum for her 85th Birthday. I had read the reviews of afternoon tea and didn't know what to expect, as some were good and some were poor. Which you do get on reviews. The whole experience was lovely, from the moment we walked into the hotel we were looked after. The staff were polite, friendly and nothing was too much trouble. We were seated in the conservatory restaurant and had beautiful views of the canal and beyond. The food was well presented and a nice choice of sandwiches. If we had needed it, all dietary requirements were catered for. The sandwiches were beautiful cut, the quiche and sausage rolls were warm and delicious. The was three different cakes, each just the right amount and cut and presented nicely. There were scones, jam, clotted cream and fresh strawberries. The strawberries and clotted cream were very fresh and the jam was good. The only thing I would say is the scones were done a little too long in the oven as they were crunchy on the outside, but edible and slightly sweet as they had icing sugar on. Not something we are used to. Our scones are soft and freshly made, but I must add the scones were good to eat but not what I would expect on an afternoon tea. Overall, we could not fault it, the food, scenery, hotel atmosphere and friendly staff made it an enjoyable 2 hours. Thank you Skipton Hotel.

Have recently stayed at the Hotel Rendezvous in Skipton, whist visiting Family, and can only praise this establishment in every department. The most wonderful and friendly welcome was received from Myra on our arrival, the room ( a standard double ), was very comfortable and spotless, and the breakfast was unbelievable, incredible choice to suit all tastes. We also booked an evening meal in the Hotel, which was very relaxing with a table by the canal, and again the food was wonderful. Our stay was crowned by meeting up with Myra again on our departure, such a lovely Lady. We will definitely be staying again later in the year. Thank you all at Hotel Rendezvous for a memorable stay. steve and Fran - Nottingham

Stayed at hotel for two nights last week. Hotel is lovely doesn't need updating good as it is. Lovely and clean everywhere. Our room which was lovely and so big plenty of storage lovely and clean. An added bonus a bath which my partner prefers. The room looked onto the canal which was an extra bonus. Ate at the restaurant the first night lovely meal and plentiful. Had breakfast both mornings couldn't fault it. Plenty of choice plates were hot and food was hot had two lovely breakfasts. Couldn't fault the staff. Checked in on-line so no delays at checking in desk and reception was very helpful. The restaurant dining bar and cleaning staff brilliant and pleasant. Couldn't find one fault with this hotel. Had lovely walks along the canal into Skipton about half an hour leisurely walk. Had a good deal with the hotel. Will definitely be back again and fully recommend it.

Great breakfast, really friendly helpful staff. Downside for us was the constant boom boom of music from the gym below from 6.30 in the morning until late night. Shame as everything else was great but that would put us off revisiting this particular hotel. The pool is also to small for an hotel of this size so was crowded when ever we visited.

My partner & I did a two night stay here. Parking on site was easy enough. There are steps & a ramp to gain access to reception (beware that if you need wheelchair access -there is a parking space literally at the bottom of the ramp so you may not get the chair on & off the ramp). On check in, we were informed that the gas is off due to problems down the road- so limited breakfast option only. Beware, they will charge an extra percentage to your bill in case you order room service etc, this is fully refunded on check out of no extra costs have been added to the room). We stayed on the 3rd floor, although the corridor smelled a bit of urine, our room didn't (our room was at the end of the corridor next to some back old stairs so think it's from there) the cleaners did a fantastic job of cleanliness so thank you to them & they were also more engaging & friendlier than some of the other staff throughout the hotel. Very dated hotel in need of a face-lift. Spa: We didn't use the spa facilities as we were informed that due to no gas, a few guests had mentioned that the jacuzzi /hot tub etc was cold. We didn't fancy coming in from the rain, being wet through & cold - to more cold. So couldn't state what that side was like. Room: Our room was clean, sparse & a decent place to lay your head. We had a view of the canal & greenery. Tea-coffee-biscuits. The surfaces in the room were all sticky from cleaning products, so if you placed any items down they would stick to the surface. A shower that maintained a decent temperature but doesn't drain too well. Breakfast: I opted for continental & my partner -a cooked breakfast. Asked if we wanted coffee, I wanted a latte -but this is charged extra to our room-having already paid a healthy sum for a basic room, I decided against it. My partner had 'basic' coffee which he said was like weak tea. As I went to get up select my breakfast, the waitress told my partner he can't have both a cooked & a continental- to which he told her he was going for a glass of juice, assuming it's allowed?! ...though the woman on the next table wasn't issued with the same memo as she was eating both options. His breakfast was very salty & greasy which he didn't finish. My croissant was okay- fresh fruit & they had cereals & small pots of yogurts ( don't expect toast or waffles etc...) We didn't bother going down for breakfast on the last day (you also have to pre-booked a timed breakfast slot each morning). I wouldn't stay again...more up to date & more welcoming hotels available around.

A very nice hotel in a perfect position on the canal and it's just a 25 minutes walk along the canal into town. They have a canal boat restaurant which was fully booked, so we didn't get to try it but it looks great and it's around £30 pp for a 3 hour cruise with a meal. The hotel is clean, the staff are polite and efficient and the rooms are cleaned daily. The restaurant was nice with views onto the canal, which was quiet due to low water levels and the locks are closed, but there's still enough waterway without locks to do the cruises. The food was well cooked and tasty and the service was quick and polite with enough staff to run the restaurant efficiently and the hotel was fully booked. The hotel is wheelchair friendly with 2 lifts and a ramp leading into the main entrance to reception and lots of free parking at the front. Skipton is a nice town with lots of restaurants, pubs and it's a nice walk into town or £5 in a taxi or the bus stop is across the road.
