   I wish I could say It’s a good place to go. As I love Cardiff market and stores run by small business people. But I can’t for this one place. I wanted to check other people for their experiences to make sure I wasn’t alone for the negative take away. Basically my partner and I just got some pet rats and we’re going to local shops to find some items to decorate their cage with, which is primarily bird supplies. We looked for the bird section which was a mix for rodent and bird stuff, great start. And the main container had all these mini ‘displays’ on the top. Mostly treats items. And then there was a board attached to the back with a few bird items which was how we knew the contents of the section, it had a couple small ladders, and a hanging bird mirror among a few other things. But we needed perches and toys, we wanted to see more items. Looking at the section, we noticed under the top sitting displays; perches and toys and tons of other stuff underneath them. Obviously we wanted to see and buy them. They were buried inside, no rhyme or reason to the ordering. It was a rummage. Which isn’t a bad thing always, we appreciate shops like that where it can be a treasure hunt. In trying to see these, the displays on top we pushed aside. These items were there for awhile, and were dirty and even had spiders! This too we could have forgiven if we could pick all the things we wanted. The owner however came over and complained at us. That we were destroying his displays. And asked us if he can help us so we stop destroying any more of his displays. We were apologetic, and explained we were trying to look through the bird items to find toys and gear. He then insulted our pets and wandered off. We were unsure if was going to actually help us when he left us. We felt bad if we really troubled him that much so we waited for him if he was going to help us and buy it for the trouble. But instead he went out his business around the stall and avoided us. I can’t give him the benefit of the doubt he’s not aware that domestic rats are a well know pet, he even stocked a well known ratfood brand. It was just over all a bizarre and uncomfortable experience. Why keep the bulk of your pet toys under small multitude displays? I really wouldn’t recommend the shop for anything, dead aquatic fish, and dirty merchandise. If he packages his dog treats and chews like everything else, id think twice before giving it to you animal to put their mouth on. Id recommended Llantwit major uno pets if you want a small businesses store for pet items. Loveliest staff you’ll meet and unforgettable in decor. Knowledgeable and kind. I go back just for service.

   went to buy a small pump for goldfish tank(small) as the one i bought a few months ago had broken , rudely informed me that i should have bought the more expensive one as obviously it was not right!!!!!!! he was the one who advised me ? won't be going there again.

   I went to this shop to ask about an anti parasitic agent for my tank and a very odd little man, who looked a bit like a vulture in a wig and seemed to be running it said that I could only buy this from a vet or otherwise didn't exist. One quick search on Google tells me different. Tbh, it isn't what he said, it's more the way he said it. What a rude and very strange man. I was glad to get my children away from him by the end of that conversation. Some people just give you a really unsettled feeling.

   Great little shop in the heart of Cardiff Market that certainly goes that bit extra, with excellent advice and products in caring for your fish. Their recent advice helped one of our poorly goldfish that we brought back to life and cheered up the family greatly.
