Our first visit here and we're not from the Bleanavon area. Great food, had a lovely birthday dinner. Staff were friendly and attentive. Not surprised you have to book far in advance. Would definitely go back but (not the restaurants fault...) if you're not local do you research on Google maps because it's not fun to find or park in the dark and the locals drive like cats with 9 lives.

First time visiting this restaurant after many attempts. It's always full, so you need to book many weeks in advance. The reason why, I've just discovered it when I arrived at the restaurant, is because it's so small! There isn't an enjoyable bar area, so basically you arrive and you need to be seated straight away. The decor of the restaurant is nothing special; maybe in wintertime, with the fireplace on, there's a nicer atmosphere. The Sunday lunch menu is very nice. The quality of food and the presentation are outstanding. So far, praise to the chef. Unfortunately, what ruins this restaurant is the front-of-house staff. We found them not very pleasant, not polite, and not attentive at all. We were served by so many different waitresses, and for the size of the restaurant, it's also a bit ridiculous. The whole visit was also ruined because in literally 1 hour and 10 minutes we ate a 3-course meal. We felt rushed. I understand that they need to maximize the number of covers in a shift, due to the size of the restaurant, but you also need to let the customer enjoy their meal! On top of that, there was a table of about 8 people waiting for our table to be added to another one standing next to us, talking and making noises while we were eating our desserts. I really wanted to try the main menu on a different day, but to be honest, if I were to try the meat experience that they offer, I would need to be ready for a race; no thanks! I prefer a more enjoyable restaurant, especially if I need to travel 40 minutes to reach it!

Butterflies’s reputation precedes itself, it has been recommended to me so many times over the years, and the long waiting list speaks for itself. On my visit, it more than met those very high expectations. The restaurant has an excellent atmosphere and beautiful garden area. Good range of drinks. The menu has so many high quality options, it can be difficult to make a choice. The prices may seem a little steep at first glance but ultimately represent superb value. All food is exceptional. Service was brilliant, quick, and attentive. The card machine went down on payment, and I suspect this may happen somewhat frequently as they accepted bank transfer as we had no cash. Parking is not ideal, there is no dedicated car park, but we found on street parking very close by. The roads are narrow and not recommended for low confidence drivers. Would absolutely recommend a visit and look forward to visiting again myself.

What an incredible find. We spotted this on socials and made a plan to visit. It did not disappoint. The starters were amazing, wine delicious but the steak platter for 4 was immense. Cooked perfectly with complimenting sauces. We could not move afterwards!

Can't miss the big blue building, entrance not well sign posted, looks like someone's front door. Minimal on street parking, but found somewhere to park down the hill. Not wheelchair friendly as very small narrow aisles. Booked 4 weeks in advance. Lovely quirky decor, staff friendly. Starters of chicken, calamari and soup were lovely, large portions. The pate in a jar was very bland and awkward to eat. Steaks were amazing, massive portions of chunky chips. The fish and chips was huge, dont order it if you want a light bite. Containers available to take home what you cant eat. Good choice of desserts.

Heard amazing things about the butterflies but it's been a few years since my last visit. Ordered the butchers block and what can I say! Food was stunning, didn't manage to finish it all...it's a massive amount of food. Also staff couldn't do enough for you. So would highly recommend

Came here for a birthday celebration and I was very pleased. The porterhouse steak was amazing and perfectly cooked and the sauce was great really tasty. The sides was also very nice too, especially the cheese and onion relish garlic bread. I had a crunchy Sunday for dessert and this too was really good. One of the best meals out I've had in a long time :)

Went here on 25/02/22 after recommendations from my wife. + Wonderful people as they fit us in right before their kitchen closing time + Few parking a close by + Ordered me "100z Welsh Dry-aged Ribeye" and my wife ordered "Spigoli al Forno" (fish dinner) + Enjoyed my steak to the full :) + Amazing ambience - Even though few parking spots close by, they usually get full. There is also a parking lot 5mins down the road.

Heard great things about this place. Went with family and it didn't disappoint. Excellent food and service. A hidden gem. Had chateaubriand, a dish for two, stunning.
