Stayed 1 night December in king std room courtyard Room was lovely clean @ great walk in shower Only problem was we were told as soon as we got to the room the heating system was not working & it was the coldest night in December Surely if this was known to the Frocester before we arrived we shouldn’t have been shown this room & given an alternative room The guy was helpful who provided 2 extra plug in electric radiators & extra blankets for the bed which made a big difference as we were only here 1 night & didn’t want to create problems we would have insisted on another room We had evening meal in the restaurant which was very good Breakfast was lovely freshly cooked to order Lovely staff behind the bar Please Frocester if this is known before guests arrive make alternative arrangements as it is an embarrassing & can spoil the whole experience

Popped in here on a visit to a local church. Just me and my 2 year old arrived and we're greated as soon as we entered the door. We were made to feel most welcome and given a table in the bar to eat as the restaurant was full. They couldn't do enough to help with looking after my young one. The food was excellent. My son had the kids roast dinner and it was a step above most roasts offered for a child. Moist chicken, flavoursome stuffing, two kinds of potatoes, soft leeks and cabbage and a Yorkshire with brilliant gravy. I had the game pie which was 10/10. Packed full of locally sourced meats in a rich gravy topped with a beautiful pastry crust. It came with a side of veg all done perfectly. Two cask ales available next to some good taps on the bar too. The service made an already excellent meal outstanding. A tough morning after visiting a loved one who has passed on made all the better with some quality human beings working there. 100% recommended and will be bringing the full family back here. Many thanks.

Location is lovely. The building is lovely. (Could do with fixing the door to the bar) The restaurant is really nice, nicely spaced out and a slight grandness about it. The room. Yes it was nice, the bed was very very comfortable, the bathroom was very well updated. Downfall was the overall dust. The bathroom vent was packed so I cleared some of it. The bedding had a suspicious mark on it. The room could do with an update from the old chairs and wood throughout. The bedding wasn't tucked in properly at the end. I don't want to make it sound completely horrific because it's not. It's just minor touches that can make it feel like a 4 star. Truly overall I would go back.

It's tricky to rate a place like this, since it is kind of typical for what it is. That means, if you go into it knowing that you're staying at a pub, you're not likely to be disappointed. My experience of staying in the main building was mostly good. The room was large, well appointed and clean. The bathroom was modern and a pleasure to use (there was a large walk-in shower). The room temperature was fine in October, but this may vary as there is no air conditioning (as you would expect when staying at a pub). The staff I spoke to were all friendly and helpful. The only issue to be aware of is that you may not want to sleep in a room facing the road if you are a light sleeper. The windows are old fashioned single-glazed units that don't seal in any meaningful way. I would guess, from the architecture and location, that this is due to legal restrictions (e.g. listed status or being in a conservation area etc.) Overall, this was a great place to stay and I would happily return in the future.

Greeted by friendly staff which was continued all through our overnight stay. Our room was clean and modern. Our evening meal was served by efficient staff with a smile on their faces. The food was plenty and of great quality. Breakfast was another winner from the kitchen. If we had to stay again in the area we would have no hesitation in staying here again.

Best Sunday roast I've had in years the quality of the meat was lovely. The veg tasty and flavoursome. Potatoes and Yorkshire pub perfect. I was considering buying another not because because was hungry but because its rare to find such nice food out these days I was craving more. Definitely will be returning. We'll done to all staff and chef keep up the great service and work.

We visited twice this weekend once for dinner and then lunch next day as the food really was that good. Staff are friendly and can’t do enough. Good array of both local and brand drinks. Recommend the Sunday roast as you do get a good helping of food. Yorkshire puddings done right too! For lunch we ordered off their sandwich menus and these turned out to be massive. Well worth the £8.50 Will definitely be returning in the new year when we are over next

Had an amazing stay at The Frocester George. Clean & comfortable room, food tastes great from breakfast to dinner, bar is well-stocked, and everyone is super friendly and accommodating. I knew check-in is at 3pm but I was so tired from my red-eye flight from Canada to the UK so I popped in to see if they can accommodate me early — room was ready in less than 5 minutes! Very considerate indeed.

Lovely old building with great period features. Friendly welcome. Nice big room with 2 comfy armchairs. Very comfortable bed. Lovely staff and great breakfast. Busy bar, but no noise in the room. At the price we paid, this hotel is fabulous. No complaints whatsoever.
