Constantly having my squash court booking cancelled...3rd time in the last 6 weeks it has happened. The squash court is also hired out for kids birthday parties ( helium balloons stuck on the ceiling and party food on the floor is proof of that)...so what I think is happening is that they cancel my bookings whenever they get a party booking request for that same time...terrible service. Worst thing is that I payed for a 1 year pay as you go membership just 1 month ago !! What a waste of money.
Soft play as much as its new, staff is awful. No managing experience, no control, lack of support and general lack of concern. Overcrowded session with no ability to crowd control leading to over crowded sessions, and risk of safety: generally the people attending lack respect for others and staff cannot manage the customers leading to an overall bad experience: shameful really!
Dear Canon's Leisure Center Team, Extremely disappointed at how I was treated by your receptionist Tia Kerr on 26th October 2025. It was a Sunday and I wanted to go to the Gym. I arrived at 4:33. The gym closes at 5 but apparently the doors close at 4:30 which I wasn't aware of. There was no one at the reception and the door wasn't opening when I tried to scan my membership card/bar code. I saw another door open, so I tried to go in but Miss Tia saw me and stopped me. She was in her regular clothes (not uniform), so I think she wasn't even technically on duty. She was extremely rude in her demeanor and how she talked to me. I realized the doors close at 4:30 and I was about to enter through the wrong door, and was partially wrong therefore didn't say anything at first and walked away, but then thought I should at least confront her about her rudeness. To my surprise, at first she wasn't even willing to talk to me, kept walking away stating that she was off duty now, which didn't seem to matter when she was telling me off 30 seconds ago. When I said you were rude to me just now, she started shouting at the top of her lungs saying 'Who do I think I was to tell her that she was rude'. I am a paying customer Miss Kerr and you are clearly crossing multiple lines here. I talked to the then manager who also wrote down an official complaint about her, but encouraged me to leave a google review which is where this would be followed up. I am extremely disappointed. I also see other reviews with similar remarks of employees being discourteous and rude to members of the gym. I expect this to be looked into and hope this type of behavior isn't enabled.

Attended for a karate tournament. Staff very helpful and even though the place is dated they seem to do their very best to look after it.
Very good place for sports and fun always had a nice time there. Specially the staff is very helpful.
Reading the reviews here and I’m laughing! It’s true the old lady at reception is horrific. The changing rooms are poor and for the showers…. Well I won’t be returning. Oh and there is no changing tables in the males changing rooms. In this day and age this should be corrected.
Not a bad gym but room for a lot of improvement, especially given the price increase since I last joined. The opening times could be much better. 4pm closing between 28th-30th December? Why? It's ridiculous and means those of us still working can't go. Usual weekend times are also poor (6pm on Sundays isn't good enough). Some things haven't changed: there are still a bunch of flies and insects in one of the mens changing rooms.
Really lovely place. The 4 stars are only because there are no family changing rooms which I didn't know before coming. I was coming with my husband and 6 months old and 3 year old. I couldn't leave my 6 months old whilst helping my 3 year old for swimming so it made changing very stressful for us but other than that very nice place. We will be coming again. I love summer outdoor activities centre organised and soft play on Tuesdays and Fridays.
