I had a disappointing experience with Wimbledon Spa. There were problems when making the booking, and after cancelling, it took five weeks to receive my refund. The process was slow and frustrating, and customer service could definitely be improved.
So very happy for the Fitness Instructor Daniel! I love how nice and pacient he is with helping me exercise, as he is very supportive, especially with helping me recover from my injury. The Swimming Teacher Lucy is also a very good instructor as she is very observant and nice with me! The Concierge Dennis is such a nice gentleman who is very helpful and sweet with me and others.
i am 13 years old attending swimming lessons here and i have been here for around 6 months and my overall ratings are very bad because in my opinion the teacher i have (Jose) is very very rude and aggressive, she has absolutely no patience with handling her students. Specifically today she told me specific instructions and i followed through but after i complete them, she comes up to me saying how i didn't listen to her instructions properly (She made me go to the other side of the pool and after i done that she told me, i had to end at the middle of the pool which is not something we normally do) so this comes to show how bad her demonstrations and teaching is towards other people and me. She didn't allow me to express my opinions at all ( When she said how poor my attitude was towards her, I was completely stunned because i didn't do anything wrong Im just trying to do my swimming lessons peacefully without someone shouting at you every 5 seconds (When she was aggressive, she got her colleague to tell me to not be rude at her and all i was trying to do is just follow the instructions and follow on with my day). I actually learned more skills with cover teachers covering the lessons. I like learning new skills but this teacher always ruins my learning enthusiasm of swimming. So overall i do not recommend this place for a person who wants to learn swmming quickly and peacefully!!
Absolutely unacceptable experience with Better. I pay £35/month for my son’s Wednesday 5:30pm Development swimming group. When I tried to add a second session per week, the system demanded that I pay ALL joining fees again (booking fee, upfront fee, month in hand, etc.) as if we were new customers. I had already paid these fees when we joined. Reception staff admitted it was strange but said they couldn’t help. Every email I sent was ignored. Every phone call either cut off or ended with another refusal to fix the mistake. This is not only poor service — it feels like a deliberate way to charge loyal members extra money. The same happened with my own gym membership: I was repeatedly charged £3 for “no-shows” when I attended my booked classes. I eventually cancelled my membership because of the unfair charges and complete lack of support.
A friend recently invited me to a midweek 2 hour spa session. The greeting at reception (Teesha) set the tone for a truly relaxing catch up. The relaxing area was very peaceful and the sauna and steam room were well maintained.
State of the art facility with a rustic feel. Great place to maximize gains and be a part of a great community. Staff are friendly and helpful which makes getting up in the morning to workout that much easier.
This is a great centre. I always have a very positive experience when I go there. It’s professionally run, very clean and has excellent facilities. The management team are brilliant too, especially a manager by the name of Sharn (or Sian?)… she’s fantastic… professional, personable, polite, knowledgeable and very helpful. Keep up the good work Better / GLL!! I’ll be coming back soon! Thank you.
Great atmosphere, the new gym setup and the spin room are cool. Loving the changes… staff are polite and attentive. Highly recommended #newme
They use the actual gym for classes, taking space AND equipment away from people using the gym. If your ideal gym closes in the middle of the evening, is very cramped and limited equipment even when there's no thievery, this is the gym for you.
Great centre. Loads of equipment and never have to wait. The swimming pool is good and the changing rooms are always clean. Staff seem friendly and helpful although not had much contact. Definitely better than some of the other local centres I've tried in the past.
