Today myself and another family member tried out the new Alpaca walk experience at Buckland park lake and we absolutely loved every second of it! We decided to both lead which meant we had our own Alpaca on a lead and harness to walk around the lake for an hour. The staff were amazing giving so many facts on the beautiful alpacas. It was a nice relaxed walk with amazing views over the lake. We cannot wait to do it again! Would I recommend absolutely!! 10/10

It's a nice place but be ready to pay entry at the park and then pay at the shac as well. Apparently you can't access the lake even if you have paid to enter. Hot day and couple of kids who want to step in the lake are asked to move out. Didn't matter that there was no notice outside saying there are no bookings left for the paddle boarding and that we paid for entry only to denied access to the lake. I get that you need to monetise nature but make it clear that the lake is not accessible if you've not booked online. Poor experience.

Went there for the open swim, £10 per child is decent value for a swim in a cool setting. It was a mild July evening, 20° air temperature and 20° water temperature, and nobody said the water was cold. It looks like a nice place to walk around too, although we didn’t get the chance. Lots of duck poo, but that’s nature for you! Chips from the food stall were very nice, and there’s also a playground and sauna to keep everyone interested.

Beautiful lake, great walk around it (bring water), quite good quality food truck next to it (got the halloumi burger). Be advised, lack of decent shade around the lake and the paddling pool area will be filthy muddy in seconds, I wouldn't even think to let my kid get anywhere near that breeding ground (quite literally, as we could see insects swimming in a toy bucket we filled with water). Potentially fun nature exposure for older kids though.

For 20 years I've been driving down the main road and never have I noticed the entrance to the park until today and decided to visit. Absolute gem in the area! It has all the facilities needed for a great day out from the burger van with hot drinks, playground, picnic area, water sports equipment through to the shower and toilets. There is a fee to pay for entry but not that significant and for what you can experience here it's a fair price to pay. I am very happy that we found another fabulous place to come with a family.

Took my 11 year old nature loving daughter... And we were on A budget too. £9 for us both to get in. Not sure why but it was so quiet. The walk round the lake was long but beautiful. Play area is for younger kids and a little small, but my daughter enjoyed the sand a paddling pool area. (There were fish in the paddling pool bit) we packed a lunch but grabbed another bottle of water and ice cream each (another £9) then headed to the woodland walk...shorter walk but set in the beautiful woodland and a welcome restbite from the sun. We're cycled there so total cost of day £18 for one adult and one child... Great, beautiful day out.

I don't know what's not to like. Cliffs, nature, lakes. A cafe as well. Tidy. Everyone seemed extremely nice. They close early but gate is open till late because of the restaurant (that's what we have been told).

I took a group of good friends here yesterday for a belated birthday celebration. Seeing geese and goslings wandering round the car park was immediately fun and relaxing. We had a go at Stand Up Paddleboard after useful and amusing instruction from two of the SHAC guys. A lot of fun and falling off ensued. After showering/changing we had a late lunch at their licenced Reverie restaurant which was excellent. The young staff looked after us very well. Then a relaxed stroll around the main lake. ...and not at all crowded despite being a sunny bank holiday.

Lovely place for a picnic, walk around lake etc. It was clean and well maintained. The place could do with a small food stall or a convenient store. The beach area was too small and the kids paddling pool needs a clean.
