I had their Lentil Doughnut to start, followed by their Kayal Special Sadya - a tasting menu with 7 Curries. The flavours were so unique and perfectly portioned. The atmosphere is lovely and they even have a Magician on specific nights who adds a fun twist to the evening! I loved their Christmas decorations and their clean interior.

First time 11/12/25 fabulous atmosphere relaxed and friendly. Service was attentive, efficient, our food came at a great pace and we were never waiting for our next course. The food is outstanding very authentic and gave you a real food experience of karela. each course was interesting fresh, with a great balance of flavour and spice. Unique and interesting food experience which we really enjoyed. Highly recommend we will be back in jan for our birthday celebration. Thank you so much Thank you

Favourite Indian restaurant in Nottingham! In the Hockley area of the city. Great choice of vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options as well as meat and fish special dishes. Always a great experience. Whether you're in a group, couple or alone, the staff are always welcoming and friendly and the food is delicious. Good size portions. Not your average curry house, Kayal offers quality South Indian cuisine.

Had a wonderful lunch time with my colleagues at Kayal. It is a must to have masala dosa as the taste itself is quite authentic in my opinion. We had papadoms, chicken briyani and a few types of curries as well. I wish the portions could have been more generous. Other than that, the service and the food quality are absolutely great. I forgot to order a masala tea but this makes a good excuse for me to make a second visit ;) P.S. They put the receipt in a treasure box - how cute is that.

We came for the thali mainly which was a little disappointing. The variety did look good on google photos however the flavours werent all there. You had to buy extra naan or roti which was silly as one small naan with that much curry was never going to be enough. The dessert was disappointing as we were looking forward to the gulaab jamun and ice cream. I took 11 of my family members and the customer service was no good. The staff were very rude at the end of our meal and charged so much for the service when there wasnt much of a service in the first place. Nice atmosphere but I don't think I'll be coming back here.

Great service, great vegan food, and some of the friendliest staff you will meet. Truly excellent value for money and a unique menu you won't forget in a hurry. I loved the interior design, the wide variety of foods and the interesting drinks offered to me. Every detail here has been thought of and planned out to make the experience memorable for customers. Would certainly recommend!
