Went last night pre cinema. Food was excellent. Great service. Will definitely return. One small criticism burger only available in brioche bun, so I had the sirloin accompanied by the nicest chips!!

I had lunch with a few friends at Millar's Brasserie today. On a positive note the restaurant its self is beautiful. However we were freezing and I kept my coat on thought my stay, my friends stayed wrapped in scarves for our stay. We ordered from the specials menu and ordered 3 different dishes to share. Unfortunately none of the options were anything special and the Triple cooked chips were left uneaten by my friends. From a restaurant,.which has a reasonably good name, we left very disappointed and will sadly not be venturing back.

Absolutely sublime! Best meal so far this trip! Walking past Queens University heading north. We had wanted to eat here and thought we missed the window. We peaked in Millar's door and found our server, Connor, who said we just made the lunch window. Very quaint and quiet venue with comfy chairs and good sized tables. The menu for lunch was pretty extensive. I ordered a smoky old fashioned and when it came I was pleasantly surprised to find it was expertly made buy Julia, thank you Julia! As I was enjoying that concoction I peered around the corner of the bar to see the draft beer selection. They actually had Menebrea on tap. A very hard to find Italian beer made in Biella in the Piemonte region of northern Italy. I had Connor pour a 1/2 pint after I finished my wonderful cocktail. We settled on what turned out to be fantastic appetizers. Debra had the poached pears and goat cheese milliefille. I had the seared scallops. The 3 perfectly prepared scallops were each on a bed of savory cream sauce and encircled a bed of bacon spinach chutney that was out of this world. The flavors matched exceptionally! Our mains were just as excellently prepared. Debra chose the pork chop with pineapple. She shared a bite with me and I have to say the combination was great! So tender, so flavorful, I almost regretted my choice. I say almost because my duck breast was "killer". OMG! A beautifully cooked medium rare with rendered crispy skin pared with a combo I have never had before but will remember for some time. Roasted plums, marinated pickles and a wedge of shredded potatoes that had been cooked so the interior was tender and the outside was the perfect level of crisp! Outstanding! I paired the duck with a glass of Peth Wetz Spatzbergunder Pinot noir. I had never had this wine but will be looking for it, it was very good! We finished with deserts that we both enjoyed tremendously even though we were probably over fed. What a wonderful culinary experience for our all too short visit to Belfast. The city was fantastic and this meal was the icing on an already excellent day!! Before I finished I have to mention Connor, our server, Julia (who made my drink but seemed to be doing so much more) and finally Erin, the chef that prepared our fantastic meal. As we say in the USA, "he knows his way around a kitchen"! Thank you Erin! When we return Millar's Brasserie is at the very top of the list of places to return to!!

Great wee restaurant! Among the sort of 'fancier' restaurants in Belfast. Nice cocktail and wine list. Good atmosphere, but this is very much a sort of cosy, intimate restaurant, the type for date nights etc. Good attentive staff and service. Menu is good, too. Good choice of interesting dishes, cooked well.

On entering the restaurant it is cosy and welcoming, the decor has a definite mark of someone with a distinct and unique taste and it works for me. The staff are friendly and the service excellent. We visited lunch time on a cold Saturday mid winter and it was fairly busy with what seemed to be a regular clientele. I had the cod fillet which was excellent and my wife had the salted chilli chicken which she highly rated, all washed down with a nice little vino Verde. Thoroughly recommend the restaurant, I will certainly be a regular visitor.
