The food we got was delicious, the staff were very attentive while we were getting drinks and ordering. We had called in ahead of going to the panto and the food was out with plenty of time to make it to our showing. Will definitely be back!

We were welcomed by the very pleasant staff and taken immediately to our table. We really found the whole experience very enjoyable. The food was absolutely delicious, bursting with fresh flavours, plentiful and fairly priced. We will definitely be back.

I had a disappointing experience at this restaurant due to misleading pricing practices. The menu displayed outside shows lower prices, but once you’re seated, the staff provides a completely different menu with noticeably higher prices. When questioned, they simply say the outside menu is β€œold” and hasn’t been updated β€” an excuse that feels unacceptable. Unfortunately, this isn’t an isolated incident; many Indian restaurants in the area seem to use the same tactic to attract customers. It’s frustrating and creates a sense of distrust. Restaurants should be transparent and honest with their pricing. Updating or removing outdated menus is the least they can do to maintain customer trust.

I always call here when in Belfast and it doesn’t disappoint, it was a quite Sunday evening so got a seat straight away, had my usual Rarrah Ghost , pilau rice and paratha all served by attentive polite staff. Everything was delicious and would highly recommend .

I recently visited India Gate in Belfast and had a mixed experience. The Chicken Makhani was deliciousβ€”rich, creamy, and well-balanced in flavor. The naan and laccha paratha were decent, though nothing extraordinary. However, we also ordered Chicken Tikka and Prawn Biryani, requesting them to be β€œIndian spicy.” Unfortunately, they went overboard with the spice level, adding an excessive amount of chopped green chilies, which made the dishes overwhelmingly hot and difficult to enjoy. The spice was so intense that it left us with an upset stomach afterward. While I appreciate authentic Indian flavors and a good spice kick, there needs to be a balance. Instead of just throwing in too many chilies, the heat should be well-integrated with the dish’s flavors. Service and ambiance were good, but the inconsistency in spice levels affected the overall experience.

Absolutely the best curry I've had! The creamy jalfrezi was amazing. The peshwari nan was brilliant as well. Everything was served hot and quickly. The waiters were friendly and attentive. If I lived in Belfast I would eat here a lot!

One of the weirdest restaurants I have ever been to in all of UK. While I entered, the restaurant had 2-3 tables with customers and the whole of the restaurant was empty. Upon taking a seat, I was asked whether who asked me to sit at the table? Apparently only a staff can allow u to sit inside and you cannot go and take a table yourself. For an entirely empty restaurant, why does this need to be done and that too for one single customer. Even if I have missed doing that, there is a way to let the customer know the rule. The waiter is not supposed to be rude for no reason and make the customer feel inhospitable. The behaviour of the waiter was very very rude. Never gave me a menu and after I asked he brought it very disinterestedly. Did not take my order for another 20 minutes. The name is India gate but the hospitality is not even near Indian culture. Very pathetic and extremely poor response. I would never suggest people to go to a restaurant which is so not under its Own name.

Our family loved it. We tasted several meals and everything was nice and tasty. Naans were also very good, as well as the Mango Lassi I had first (I always have one at indian restaurants and thus am always comparing the creaminess and taste). Portions were for good eaters! A nice word to the staff, they were all friendly and efficient. A place to return to!

Had a meal here on business. Very good quality food. Not big portions but very nice. No draught beer let’s it down so only 4 stars. Staff are all very friendly and service is very good. You should give this place a try if you get chance.
