A delightful visit to Cleaver & Wake. Enjoyed the Christmas lunch which was excellent, everything being beautifully presented and very tasty. The waitress was very efficient and friendly. Very classy restaurant, will be returning.
I took my mum for her 60th birthday and we both Had a great experience here. Standout service especially max. The food was special each and every dish. The beef tartar was something unique and special. The beetroot carpacio held its own against the beef wow. For mains both our steak and venison were cooked to perfection. Not a single complaint from start to finish. Thank you will definitely return
I’m never keen on writing a review. The service is brilliant. One little detail make me feel the service charge was well paid was that the manager’s hospitality skills, As I was approaching to take a look at the presented fresh fishes, he was patiently introducing the fishes to me. It was showing how much he cares.
Wow, Cleaver & Wake in Nottingham sounds like a gem! I had an incredible experience dining here, starting with their signature Beef Wellington, which was perfectly cooked and bursting with flavor-definitely a standout dish! The chocolate dessert was the ideal sweet finish, rich and indulgent yet not too heavy. The atmosphere is elegant yet welcoming, with attentive service that made the evening feel special. I loved the modern decor and the open kitchen vibe-such a treat for a foodie! Highly recommend this spot for a fine dining experience that’s worth every penny.

The service is consistently top notch: warm, attentive, and perfectly timed. The food quality speaks for itself: refined, elegant, and full of flavour. Special mention to the popcorn salted caramel dessert cocktail, it was absolutely divine! Rich, creative, and the perfect sweet note to end the meal on. From beautifully presented starters to perfectly cooked steak, everything was faultless. Cleaver & Wake remains a firm favourite. Can’t wait to return!
We were very blessed to get some Cleaver & Wake vouchers for Christmas, and we finally visited this week. The staff were super friendly and offered a huge range of cocktails in the bar. We were then shown our table and within minutes we were asked if we wanted to move as a nicer one had become available, nice touch. We both decided just to go for the main course... until we got the menu and very quickly changed our minds to go for starters too. Everything was delicious and it was amazing seeing how the kitchen staff were keeping everything on track. A delicious addition to Nottingham, already booked to go back.
I don’t remember the persons name who looked after us - but everyone we interacted with that evening was lovely. From the moment we walked in and gave our coats and were taken to our table to the service during the meal and then as we left. One of the last 2 tables to leave and the staff didn’t pester to get us to leave quickly, so kudos to them. Amazing food 10/10. I would definitely recommend and will definitely be back. What a fabulous experience. The staff were amazing, real attention to detail and couldn’t do enough for you. We had a fantastic table overlooking the kitchen, the chefs were top class. Paid every attention to detail, worked brilliantly as a team and produced some of the best food we’ve ever had. The crab starter and the Rib Eye steak were incredible. Congratulations to you all! First class service, amazing atmosphere and we will be back again.
Absolutely delicious food, really very very good. The service was sublime, some of the best I've experienced in the UK which is insane for such a new restaurant. All of the staff were incredible with my fiancé who was celebrating her birthday. Every course was so tasty, beautifully cooked and presented... can't wait to return
