   Dinner at The Trent Lock was absolutely fantastic! The atmosphere was warm and inviting, with lovely views that made the evening feel extra special. I ordered the lasagna, and it was exceptional—rich, perfectly seasoned, and beautifully baked with a deliciously creamy cheese topping. The service was friendly and attentive without being intrusive. Overall, a wonderful dining experience that I’ll definitely be returning for. Highly recommend

   Went for Sunday lunch — it’s been a while since I last visited Trent Lock, but the pub has been done up really nicely. It has a modern yet country feel to it, which works well. We were seated promptly even though we hadn’t booked, which was a nice surprise. The menu had a good selection — plenty of variety without being overwhelming. I had the turkey breast roast dinner and my brother went for the vegetable wellington. At first, our meals were mixed up, but the mistake was corrected quickly. The food itself was very good. The only slight downside was that my roast potatoes were a little overcooked, though it didn’t spoil the meal. We also ordered puddings, which took a bit of time to arrive, but it wasn’t a major issue. The bill for two mains, two puddings, and two Pepsis came to £60, which I thought was very reasonable for the quality. Service was excellent — our waitress was attentive and friendly throughout. Overall, a lovely Sunday lunch and definitely worth a visit.

   Had a lovely meal at the Trent Lock. I went for the lunch deal and it was super tasty! The calamari was well done (sometimes they can be a bit rubbery but not these). Then had the fish cakes which were probably the best fish cakes I’ve ever had! Staff were friendly and attentive. Overall a great experience.

   The atmosphere coming into the restaurant was not pleasant, bar staff did not have any character about them didn’t have any banter while trying to order drinks at the bar, didn’t have a smile on their face, when serving myself and family. Restaurant staff tired to put myself and family in a cornered area for when stating I struggle with claustrophobia. Also stated that there only place but then let us have another table, but then No one else sat in that area so we could have sat anywhere! Couldn’t order what we wanted on the menu as there was none left. However was able to order the trio roast which did not make sense as we all wanted the belly pork which was on the trio menu. When getting the food, the roast potatoes where hard and hollow, had the end of the cabbage in the green veg, gravy was cold, with the pork belly the meat was hard and the cracking was soft… (wrong way round!!). Had the olives and garlic for starter - there was only two garlic gloves - and they tasted off! One of the waitresses when talking to her didn’t look like she was happy with being at work as did not smile once throughout while trying to host myself and family. To that conclusion Very disappointed in the services and meal on this occasion - when in the past I have really enjoyed coming to this restuarant. I will only return to this restuarant but only for drinks due to the area, I will never eat here again. Only ate part of the meal as we were hungry after a long day. After complaining they did knock off two meals however they should have just knocked it all off, it was that bad. Just to add… when paying for the bill they stated we needed to pay for drinks however they were paid for prior to having food, that what we thought anyways. So they were trying to make us pay for something that was already paid for. This is bad customer services and not exceptable. No commuincation what so ever. Should of had a receipt of the drinks to state it didn’t go through at the bar!!! Bar staff should have said she’d have put it on the tab, so there was no confusion. Not exceptable!! However manager was nice and understood where we were coming from.

   What a lovely pub in a lovely location overlooking the River Trent, with tables and chairs on lawns between the river and the pub. The Erewash canal is to the side of the pub with it's fascinating lock gates and other interests. We drove up by Campervan from our South Somerset home to visit family members in Beeston. There were no campsites near Beeston but searching for Pub Stop-overs we found The Trent Lock Pub (formerly The Navigation Inn.) We phoned ahead, got the thumbs up and arrived 5pm. We selected a parking slot at the rear of the car park looking onto grass land and trees. We invited two family members for dinner and we ate at 7.30pm (the pub opened at 6pm) The food was superb and we didn't have to wait long for it. I had the chicken salad with avocado and bacon plus a side of sweet potato fritters. Incredible flavours!The others had Salmon and onion fishcakes with shrimp sauce with broccoli and other vegetables, which they enjoyed. Wine was a nice Sauvignon Blanc. The service was good and the staff were pleasant so what else could one ask for. So we will come Pub Stop-Over camping at the Trent Pub every time we visit Beeston and we know we'll get good free camping and bl__dy good food. Thank you Trent Lock Pub Nick & Jackie The free pub Stop-overs are great and all you need to do is eat or drink in the pub that evening.

   I visited here at the weekend on Sunday for my birthday with some family. We easily booked a table online a few days before. We were 5 minutes early arriving, was acknowledged within 2 minutes of entering the premises and promptly seated with menus. Our drinks order was taken after 5 minutes of perusing the menu, and whilst they were being prepared, about 5 minutes later we were asked if we were ready to order food or needed more time, but we were ready. The menus have a good choice range, but we had checked online in advance, so all knew pretty much what we wanted. The lady took our orders, our drinks arrived and around 20 minutes later our food arrived. It was all well presented and looked really yummy, and we all really enjoyed our choices. The lady serving us came to check we were happy with our food about 5 minutes in and asked if we wanted any more drinks or anything else. After we had all finished, our plates were promptly cleared away and we were asked if we wanted any desserts. That was also cleared away promptly and we were asked if there was anything else we would like or just the bill, so no waiting around to catch anyone's attention, they were on it. A very pleasant experience, very friendly and attentive staff, we will definitely visit there again. Outside is lovely by the Trent Lock Canal and River. The inside was clean and tidy. We visited at 1pm on a Sunday, it was fairly busy but not heaving, maybe 50-75% full. We would definitely recommend coming here for food and/or drinks. The customers sat near us all seemed happy with their food and it all looked delicious.

   Lovely pub in a lovely location. Plenty of parking and quite easy to get to by car. The perfect place to stop on a nice long canal walk/bike ride. Dog friendly and with a huge beer garden, with a pleasant covered seating area outside. A nice selection of beers but only one cider on tap (Aspall) which might upset cider fans - plenty of other fruity ciders in bottles though. The inside of the pub is lovely, although if the weather’s nice you’ll probably only be going inside to visit the bar or the toilets!
