Reserved a table as advised and when Dan called to confirm I requested a table with a view of band as first visit. Dan did not disappoint we got a table right by band and a mixture of the food the music the atmosphere and a single cocktail as driving next morning I felt in heaven. They have the balance just right. Tables close but not that you can hear the conversation at next table when no music. Even when no live music the background music was divine. Having just come back from Italy to find this place and the young man that actually came from near Florence and spoke about his food and country with passion was commendable. Nothing was rushed everything the way it should be. Well worth a visit but BOOK so not disapppinted. Will be back!!!

Fantastic Jazz club, we had a great time with the live music, food and drinks. Special thanks to Dan and Emilia for making us feel so welcome. Highly recommended!

Pelican Club: Impeccable Jazz and Authentic Italian Dining Rating: 5/5 Stars We made reservations at the Pelican Club specifically for a night of live jazz and dinner, and the experience exceeded all expectations. We were fortunate to be seated right in a prime viewing location. The band performing that evening, The Jack Pearce Trio, was fantastic and provided the perfect entertainment throughout the evening. The atmosphere is elegant yet cozy, perfectly setting the stage for a wonderful dinner. The live jazz creates a sophisticated, intimate backdrop that makes for a truly memorable date night or celebration. The menu itself is a celebration of the Umbrian region of Italy. The kitchen combines this rustic, traditional style of cooking with impressive sourcing: using fresh produce from local independent suppliers alongside perfectly imported Italian ingredients. Every dish we had felt authentic, hearty, and made with immense care. If you are looking for an evening that masterfully pairs top-tier live music—especially if you catch The Jack Pearce Trio—with truly authentic, high-quality Italian cuisine, the Pelican Club is an absolute must-visit. Highly recommended!

This is my favourite restaurant in Nottingham! The food was incredible and the atmosphere can’t be topped, with a live jazz band playing! The staff was really accommodating and friendly and the whole night was lovely! Would highly recommend

Staff did as much as possible to make a birthday special, they were all wonderful. Can't thank them enough. Food was lovely, all cleaned our plates . The only tiny tiny comment is that I'd say the music was a tad too loud for diners in a smallish space, the act they had on was brilliant, we enjoyed the music a lot and of course you go to a place like the Pelican for the music as much as anything else...but we still came out with sore throats from shouting across the table at each other all evening which was a little much when the act was in spitting distance anyway.

Great place with life music and warm atmosphere. Very lovely and helpful staff. Affordable prices. Hope to come again to try some of their food.

An Italian restaurant that doubles as jazz venue. The food was remarkably good, on the whole, with the stuffed aubergines very tasty and highly recommended by the vegetarians in the group, and the pork medallions very succulent. The jazz ensemble, a duo with the lead Italian singer treating the diners to a smooth repertoire, was nice and acted as a background music rather than being too intrusive. Location I a quiet square of the Lace Market. Parking is extraordinarily expensive around the site, so use public transport if you can. The host and staff were impeccable. Two points worth noting: - Vegetarian options are somewhat limited and the vegetarian pasta option rather dry - The venue is more a restaurant that provides a setting for jazz rather than a jazz venue that happens to serve food. Lovely night out but would have loved a bit "rawness" and edginess about the jazz.

Great experience, food was lovely, everyone was very polite and live music. Unfortunately on a pasta dish there was a big piece of plastic at the bottom so my sister only found it at the end of her meal wich was a bit discussing, we raised this with the waitress and recognised the food was really good, she appoligised and that was it..we where expecting at least some discount on that dish but no compensation for the mistake was made, we wherent expecting much since she only found it at the end of the meal but it would have been a good gesture a discount on her dish at least. We paid around £130 for 3 ladies plus tip, no desserts, 1 bottle of wine to share,2 cocktails,2 starters and 3 mains.
