I’ve had lessons with 4 coaches recently and they’ve all been amazing. Super kind, helpful and bringing great energy. The lessons at the wave are the best way to progress in your surfing. Stringer, Sonny and Charlie during one lesson, helped my partner become confident enough to try the next step up. Ben was awesome on the advanced coaching. Helpful, considered, constructive advice that lead to me having the best session I’ve had.

Friendly staff, went surfing had a great time. Great constant waves to catch and ride in on. Wetsuits, hats, and boards provided, safety brief and off you go. Tuition lessons given too if you require. Showers, toilets, changing rooms and lockers. Cafe and shop. Highly recommend.

Booked and went to one of the paddle by the bay sessions with a 4 and 6 year old. Both really enjoyed it and had a 'Epic time'. The life guards explained things really well and made sure everyone understood where to go and where they couldn't. Ordered food and it was really nice, no complaints at all with the kitchens. One small issue, the play area didn't seem to get cleared on a regular basis and there were glasses left on the floor.

Really brilliant facility. Wish I’d gone before. Went as a bodyboarder. Hostility from fellow surfers fairly low. Been twice now. Advanced plus this time which was better than advanced for bodyboards. It’s such great fun. Food and coffee is good too!

Everything at the wave is done to the highest standard. Firstly, the lake is great. The water was very comfortable and way warmer than the sea. They provide wetsuits, bodyboards and surfboards. The staff are very nice and explain everything before you get in the water. There is a cafe which serves amazing food. There are plenty of options and full vegan and gluten free menus. The burger I had was one of the best burgers I have ever eaten. They also have some lovely smoothies as a healthier option. There is also a shop which has clothes, mugs and other wave merchandise. The t shirts have very nice designs and the shop is definitely worth a look at during your visit. There are multiple toilets, including a few by the lake, the cafe and some by the car park. There is a short walk of about 10 minutes from the car park but there is nice scenery and play equipment on the way. The car park has lots of space. Amazing experience and I would definitely recommend.

Absolutely brilliant! Came for a beginner surfing lessons. Loved the relaxed atmosphere and excellent facilities. The lesson was a bit too hard for our 9 yo (physically hard), but the instructors worked hard making sure everyone got the help they needed.

It’s was so fun! Perfect day out This was our first visit where my hubby had a beginners surfing lesson. Amazing place to go and learn how to surf or if you are advanced there are separate sessions for all abilities

My partner and I went for a beginner lesson and had a fastastic time. The coaches are all friendly, informative and entertaining. The place itself is very clean and well run. Read a few reviews stating it's expensive but for the quality I think it's more than fairly priced, especially the food! We decided to stay at the camp too which had such a nice atmosphere. Probably the best glamping experience had so far! Definitely coming again!

What an absolutely fabulous afternoon we had here today. This was our first visit where the wife and the little lady body boarded at Play At The Bay and myself and the lad had a beginners surfing lesson. This starts with parking up and checking in prior to a good kilometre walk to the venue. If you have children get them to bring their scooters. We had a little look around before we got our wetsuits and went our separate ways. The staff/instructors were really great, happy to give you pointers or let you carry on if you knew what you were doing. We visited on a glorious sunny day which was a little windy. This really did make you feel like you were at the beach. After we are shown the basics you get plenty of time in the water and are able to make significant technique improvements. My lad thoroughly enjoyed himself and so did I. After our session we sorted ourselves out and had an ice cream from the shop. We will 100% be coming back again. One of our best family experiences to date. There are plenty of seat/benches for spectators or family to watch and a few places to get food and drink.

Amazing place to go and learn how to surf or if you are advanced there are separate sessions for all abilities. Went for a beginner session and the coach was fantastic and had plenty of time in the water. There is a bit of a walk from the car park to the centre but more than managable. There is a cafe, terrace and shop there. Everyone is really friendly and helpful, give it a go.
