    When it comes to DIY supplies the UK is dominated by the big box stores which have their place. But a lot of the time what you need is the good local supplier that comes with fountains of advice, great customer care, very competitive prices and the option to buy one of the specific item you need rather than a complete unit. For example I recently needed to repair a pop up click clack waste in a bathroom sink. All I wanted was the brass insert piston. Not the whole unit. But everywhere else was (it they were interested at all) "sorry mate we only sell the complete unit" which was 10 to 20x the price of the piston. Enter Walsall DIY. Not only did they have just the piston but they also had the complete unit, if I made a mess of extracting the piston, for a much better price. This has got to be, IMHO, the best local DIY store / shop in the area. Friendly, helpful, nothing too much trouble. And they always seem to have what you need. No need to buy 5kg of nails, unless of course you need that many, you can just get what you need. And always service with a smile and a laugh. Parking can be a a minor issue but you can usually find a parking place round the corner in Little London. But believe me it is worth the extra 1 minute walk. And anyway, you know you need the exercise. Give them a try. You won't regret it.
