I have been placing quite a lot of online orders / shopping in store recently due to a house move. I’ve been completely satisfied with the quality and cost of products. The online customer service support was fantastic for an item we did have with an issue with. I placed quite a hefty online click-and-collect order too - the in-store staff were great with handling this.

After a poor experience ordering shutters from Dunelm in the past we were a little wary about buying curtains and blinds from them recently, but I have to say that dealing with Katherine at the Nottingham store was an absolute pleasure. She was extremely friendly and helpful as well as being knowledgeable. She helped us choose appropriate blinds and curtains for our windows and arranged for a young man named Jordan to come and measure up. He was also very efficient, polite and helpful. We would be more than happy to use them again and have already recommended them to friends. A quick mention also for Jen and Jade in the coffee shop who were also lovely.

I ordered three items that were supposed to be ready within 2 hours. 24 hours later and they weren't ready, so I went to the store and it turns out that the rug that I had ordered wasn't available. Nobody had bothered to make me aware of that. Charlie, who I was surprised to learn is one of the managers, doesn't suit a customer facing role at all. There are a lot of lovely staff members here who would be much more worthy of a managerial role. I went up to the rug section to look for a replacement rug. Charlie was on that section. I asked if he could help me by pulling out two rugs so I could have a look at the colours and the size. He couldn't be bothered, so asked me if he could get out the smaller version because it was easier for him. He was huffing and puffing, irritated by my request, and just wasn't very pleasant to deal with. He also told me that if a particular sized rug I wanted wasn't out then they don't have it. However, I then found a lovely man with long hair who was willing to help me, and did so in exactly the way you'd expect. With a smile, lovely customer service, and managed to locate the rug that I wanted. That's the sort of person that should be a manager. Not stroppy Charlie.

Three journeys as neither item I wanted was in store and so had to be ordered by staff. In order to do this they needed email, phone number and address...consequently I am now receiving all manner of marketing messages and request for reviews on how they performed. I remember when you could actually buy things in shops, now it seems that even when you arrive at a shop, you have to buy online.

We have purchased Ready-made Curtains, Blinds & Poles for 3 x bedrooms & ensuite also arranged fitting of these items from the Nottingham Store. The estimating process, ordering & fitting of the products was extremely straightforward. The quality of the products excellent. The sales person we dealt with throughout the process was Kathryn. Her professionalism, depth of knowledge of the ranges available are "second to none" Kathryn has a fantastic skill at being able to Firstly listen to a customers requirements & aspirations, then directing / guiding the customer through the vast ranges options in a timely manner to the precise ranges & designs that meet the desired requirements. Kathryn is also an effective communicator, keeping the customer well versed in the various stages of the process. Measuring & fitting is also handled effectively, predominantly controlled by Kathryn, however exceptionally assisted by Jordon. He initially visited to measure the windows in question, in good and speedy time. Jordan then returned to fit the curtains 3 weeks later, which he again did professionally and with aplomb. His knowledge of the products was also first class and was most courteous and respectful whilst in our property as well as being very tidy in his work. In conclusion, great products, great service and just as importantly great staff. Both Kathryn & Jordan are a credit to the company they represent.

A great store with great products, therefore, in the curtains sector, a terrible service, I believe that it is not in the right place to work, as it does not have the attitude to serve the customer. Looking at the other reviews this problem has been coming for months. Stunning that management takes no action.

Very pleasant shopping stroll around the amply stocked store. Purchased the goods we required with ease and comfort. We didnt visit the Eatery Area on the 1st floor. It was about 60% occupied, so I guess it is rated well by customers. Car parking spaces are a tad tight, but certainly manageable with care. Well done Dunelm.

I went in before Christmas looking for "Made to Measure Curtains". However the interaction was extremely disappointing. I in fact feel that the process was just to much hassle eg. emails promised and nothing, phone calls promised and nothing. Amending quotes without explanation. When asked has the "sale" discount been applied the answer came back "Yes its been subtracted automatically", when they really meant was no it been added as the price has gone way up. I provided photos measurements and the fitter has been out and confirmed my measurements, so the increase seems for the sake of it. Then for the staff to say that they "must be some misunderstanding" meaning that I have got it wrong, not when you have it in black and white on there headed paper. Well that was the fine straw, I have now chosen to go elsewhere where I will be treated as I treat other people, with respect. You have been warned.

It is very difficult to find a member of staff to gain assistance. The haberdashery items that I required were in an area, at the farthest corner plus it was on the first floor then there was only a minimal amount of products. Luckily there was a working lift, if not it would of been a wasted journey. They would of lost a customer, as I was would have gone to another provider for my items. The girl on the till gave the impression that she definitely did not want to be there. She looked terrified when I offered cssh to pay for my items, after a considerable length of time she calculated my change, then she asked me to check if she had calculated correctly. Don't schools teach basic maths anymore? I taught my children about money issues as they were growing up, adequately for the age of the child. While they were in primary school they also taught the basics of dealing with money, they were then taught more extensively whilst they were studying during their time at secondary schools. Children of today do not use money, and could not tell you what the price of each item was, because they just flash there credit cards and off they go, as if money flows out of their credit cards, they must panic when the statement arrives, then they will just get another credit card to pay the first statement, it's a vicious circle.

Popped into this store today as it was close to the Nottm Canal where I was walking This store is HUGE with an immense range of products for the home and at very reasonable prices. There is also a cafe. I bought a throw for my settee and very pleased with my purchase. The city tram passes Dunelm so the store is very accessible but also with large car park.
