Demi was such a lovely stylist, she was really methodical and took her time and didn't rush. Really recommend and I'm happy with my cut! I would come back

Edit 3: In my most recent appointment the Trainee Hair-Colourist blew my hair dry after I let her know about my ultimatum to have heat-protection product applied (and properly) otherwise I was happy to leave with wet, brushed hair. The level 2 Student was happy to apply heat protection spray (going to another section of the Salon to find) and applied it properly; I've learnt it depends on who your Trainee Colourist/Stylist is in regards to whether one should have their hair dried at the salon or journey home with wet hair. Edit 2: Thankfully the finger-running has stopped (but then again I haven't had a cut since early spring)... Walk out with your hair wet if your hair's not being assessed I've learnt; when I walk into the salon and many clients are having their hair dried it smells of burning so I doubt protection products are being used (properly). I don't always see my hairdresser spray my hair (and if they do they don't brush my hair so to protect all my hair with the heat-protection liquid : I've had one student hairdresser say that the UV protection from the shampoo will protect me which I don't think is true because the hair needs HEAT PROTECTION for hairdryers not UV which is for the sun's rays - correct?) At this stage I'm just going to ask to leave the salon with wet hair (brushed to avoid knots when it's dried) and dry my own hair with care at home. Oh and always bring vaseline and ear covers to any (dark)-hair-colour appointments (to stop the forehead/neck nape from being stained for many hours minimum by the hair dye) - the salon doesn't provide such Edit: The salon staff (including the Assessor) needs to stop running their fingers through my hair once it's nicely styled - you make it look greasy/bad by doing that! After so long in the industry/in life how do you not know that running your fingers through a client's hair unnecessarily makes them want to shout at you for being so obsessed/stupid? Stay away from hair once it's done! I've had to tell a student repeatedly to stop running their fingers through my hair (a part of me wishing I didn't repress my urge to shout at her so I wasn't ignored so much) and just this week the Assessor was running her finger's obsessively through my hair once it was blown dry this styled (I was about to tell her she was being obsessive to get her to stop but she stopped as I was about to - to everyone's fortune) . Speak up clients if you need to! Good place to go to if you have time and (much more importantly) if you can get an appointment ; it's an abomination that there's not always someone (even trained students who are known to be waiting for their next appointment could be at the Reception desk) to be at Reception - calls for appointments are missed, only on the rare occasion does a Receptionist call back in good time for you to make an appointment. Usually you have to travel all the way to the city centre (and hope the salon is actually open until the time Google maps says the salon is open for; I have travelled to the salon to make an appointment only to realise they shut before they were supposed to( either that or they need to update their opening times clearly if they're closed for the holidays by activating an automated message stating such when ringing them). I've ended up going elsewhere for my treatments at times (feeling so inconvenienced and wanting to give my money to an operation that actually runs properly). Please operate better Your Look (Adams building too from similar experiences). I want to help the next generation of hair stylists and beauticians (as well as get value for money and continue providing funds for Nottingham College's salons) but that's not possible if there's inadequate communication.

As a long term client I am sad to say that my latest haircut is a disaster. Nothing can be done to rectify it until it grows - there is so little left. I no longer have a fringe. All the reactions have been "OMG what have you done? Did you mean it to be like that?". The tutor did eventually step in but too late. I heard her explain the errors in the cut. It's uneven and (despite her telling me it wouldn't) it is sticking up in places and I fear that will get worse as it grows. What is also wrong IMHO is that it was only the ladies at reception that cared how I felt about it and apologised - it shouldn't have been their job to do that.

I’m really sad to post this review, and it isn’t anything against the students. I had previous positive experiences having my hair cut here. But the last two times I’ve been, I’ve come away with lopsided hair. And the shaping at the front that was done very quickly by one of the teachers is not good either. It’s not even and just looks strange. No heat protection or any product at all was used in my hair before or after blow drying. When I left, my hair still wasn’t properly dry either. It seems like the teachers don’t check on the students enough, and we were often waiting several minutes for a teacher to come and help. I wish I could remember the teacher names because one of them was really good and helped, and it felt like she was giving full attention. The other it seemed like they were just in a rush and didn’t really care (this is the one that rushed the shaping of my hair). Now I’m going to have to go elsewhere just to get this fixed.

Today was my first visit here, and I left with a wonderful haircut that I'm absolutely delighted with. They did such a great job! Meg (hope I've got that right) washed, cut and styled my hair with supervision from Helen (again, hope I've remembered the right name). Amazing attention to detail from both and I'm so happy with the result. A lovely salon with a friendly and welcoming atmosphere, will definitely be coming back in the future :) Thanks again!

Absolutely awful!y My friend went in for a leg wax and eyebrow wax, first of all asked for a full leg wax and they barely did half simply because he was male ; literally patches of hair and red marks everywhere. Eyebrow wax was just as bad, literally you couldn’t even tell they’d been done, absolute wast of money!! I went for hair services and it was great but beauty therapists just treat you so poorly if you are anything but a woman...disgusting!
