great walks and trail through the area and not far from Bristol - small and free car park near by (please only park in the car park as indicated) Plenty of signed walking trails and notice boards Plenty of places to get away from the crowds and have good views - plenty of planes going over not being far from Bristol Lulsgate airport
We loved this walk but we didn't give it a 5 star as each map we came across had different colour paths or name. We tried to follow the yellow path but ended up missing half the walk because of the signs. We did however still have a great walk and found the cows and goats.
Paths are primed for ticks. We turned back after having to flick one off before it attached itself. Long grass reaching across the path from head to toe, impossible not to brush your whole body past it. Not a comfortable experience, but I’m sure outside of the summer growth it is a lovely area to walk
Tucked away woodland spot with a few different trails to follow. Quite a bit of a climb to start, and then levels out a bit. Can hear the jets landing and taking off from the airport but still feels very remote and green.
What a lovely place for a walk! Probably the best signage I’ve ever seen for a walk in the woods. Clearly marked trails of varying lengths. Great views across the valley. Can be quite muddy after rain! Some fairly steep areas. Lovely and quiet. Free car park. Beautiful place for a not too long walk in the woods.

Amazing woodland walk and view point (accessed by a little path behind the big spreading tree in a glade along the upper path) This wood is accessed via Cleeve Hill Road where there is a free car park.
Nice area! Very dramatic, make sure you walk and have a adventure!
Walked a round trip of 6.5 miles. Stunning woodlands and views, plus amazing weather. Fab place for a picnic.
